IMO, if your team is transitioning, it's not good putting rookies in positions of influence; whether it's the coach, GM, or Prez. Too risky on many levels.

You hire those positions as a 'transition team'. Hire senior, experienced hockey people to guide your franchise through a difficult time. You make that clear in the interview and I think you have many 'old guard' guys jumping at the opportunity.

This is what I’m saying. It doesn’t matter where in the standings you are, if you continually gather more picks you will almost always have someone in the minors ready to promote...

Well said, I think he can play on the wing on the 3rd line and take faceoffs though. Plus he’s decent on the PK. He can handle tough minutes unlike most of our vets which is why I’m fine with him as a stopgap.

Don’t worry about it, if you can’t just fit in and complain you will be ridiculed for any other thoughts, whether sarcastic, ironically funny, facetious or just trying to even change the direction of everyday BS.
