He's not exactly wrong with pushing for South of the Canada Us border. They have a heck of a lot more people then Canada does. Canadian's are fans of a team somewhere. American's almost need to have a team near them to fall in love.

Correct, it was a no brainer but expansion's negative impact can be felt in today's game. I mean, the NHL has done everything in its power to change the game to appeal to the lowest common denominator, the casual fan, while ignoring the base fan.

I saw these comments in the last thread too. People (in general, not specifically you) need to get over the captaincy stuff. Any actual leadership is done behind closed doors and all responses to the media are just PR spins.

Everytime someone speaks out negatively in the media, the response is "you keep that in the locker room", "Dont call your teammates out to the media", etc. If anyone thinks Bo Horvat, or Brock Boeser are going to say anything different after each loss, they are fooling themselves. The C's and A's are solely for media relations and official discussions with referees, nothing more

Unless you know what each player with a C or A is saying behind the scenes to the players, does it really matter who is getting interviewed by media? The Sedins have taken a lot of the hard questions and scrutiny year after year, better them answering the questions at this stage rather than the young kids.

Thats just it, figurehead means nothing in the room anymore. All the letter comes with is additional responsibility these days, all the players can figure out who the leaders are within 15 minutes of being in the room whether or not they have a letter on their jersey

GMs are supposed to go out and create deals, not just sit by the phone and wait until deals come to them.

Im pretty sure that was the report on why they took the C from Luongo. He was obviously vocal enough in the room that they decided to name him captain, but then took it when the media responsibility took away affected his preparations.

I admire the teams tenacity but can't support anything Gary Bettman. In a day and age where FLA ARZ NYI NJ and a few other teams can't even put 4000 asses in their seats we are expanding when the league should be retracting by 4-5 teams...or just moving them. Bettman is a f**cking joke and I can't support anything that jackass does.

Van has beaten better teams this year. I think it just shows that in a year or two with some younger, better players added that Van can compete nightly with the best teams in the NHL.

How else do you explain it, he was hitting everything playing with passion and that all of a sudden disappeared.
