They also have the best goaltender. - Zezel
Its amazing how this team is meeting all of our expectations and more since they were assembled. |

Rask looked a little more tired than Andersen tonight |

Glendenning for one of Gauthier (doesn't appear to be the heir-apparent for the 4th C), Leivo (strange giving up a 'scorer' for a jobber but he's had ample time to stick around), or a 3rd (prices are high this year). - Blazed
Why bother? Moore is fine in the role for now and plenty of 4th line centers available every off season. Don't bother wasting the picks or players for that. Leivo and Goat can be moved for something at the very least more picks for us. Just restock the farm and bring up Jonsson to fill in on wing.

Did anyone else catch Rask leaving the ice? It almost looked like a tantrum.... - Nylo48
Didn't see him leave but unless he faceplanted into the boards trying to swing and break his stick he wasn't having one of his patent meltdowns. |

Huge game for the Leafs. A few random ponderings.
After seeing Nylander play center tonight I think I'm comfortable rolling Matthews - Nylander - Kadri next season.
Prices are way too steep this year. I actually wouldn't mind a Glendenning acquisition. It seems like a reasonable low cost addition. With Matthews out it gives them a depth center. Gives them a strong PK center. Assuming Moore and Komarov don't return it's a hole that will need to be filled.
The D I think will have stay as is. McDonagh is the only impact guy worth inquiring about but the price likely doesn't fit. On the plus side the Leafs have enough depth guys with both Borgman and Carrick being available for the playoffs.
Kapanen has looked fantastic, he will be up the line-up soon. Not sure if he played much PK earlier in his career but wonder if cracking the NHL on a defensive line could actually be better for his long term game. The Marlies development seems to be working.
The Bruins are beatable in 7. How cathartic would that be? - Blazed
Is Glendening really that much of an upgrade over Moore? He’s almost twice the price with three more years left. Aside from just giving Babcock another one of his guys I don’t really get it. |

A bit surprised on the call there, but McAvoy went in and ended up bumping Rask himself before being shoved by Hyman into him further. Thought it could have gone either way and expected us to get screwed on it |

Brad Marchand was bothering Kadri all night and called him a f*ggit!!
You noticed after Kadri scores he went to the bench and gave a nice limp wrist wave to his Boston body! Priceless how Kadri and uncle Leo Love to stick it to Marchand - BreathLeafs2015
When did he call him that? |

Yeah didn't see the chirping but saw Kadri with the gesture after scoring. Was wondering what that was about but figures it was mouthing off on the ice back and forth with Marchand. |

If we play Boston in playoffs, they’ll try and turn it into a chippy war... Leafs have to just play their game but it might not be so easy.... |

how does that even happen? I think our D is underrated. (frank) adding a big name like Doughty.. I wouldnt complain but i think with Liljegren coming up and Gards and Rielly matured and are settling into being very good point prodcers, not to mention Dermott and Borgman, this group just needs to marinate. Phaneuf sucked when he came here and he was a big name so hard no. |

Boston obviously has trouble dealing with the Leafs speed. In the game a few weeks ago Toronto just dumped the puck in all night and weren’t too quick on the forecheck and it played to Boston’s strengths. If they carry the puck and skate like they can then Boston is going to have a really hard time with them. And they’ve been in Rask’s head for two seasons now. |

Uh-oh don't say that.... I did like a month ago not wanting to waste money on big names and man the shyte storm that started... all cause I preferred to pay and keep our guys and grow the team to where it will be.

I don't think it's of vast importance but I'm warm to the idea. Look at the free agent depth centers available at UFA, particularly if you'd prefer someone under 30. Not many options and the few more attractive ones like Riley Nash will cost a higher cap hit.
Gives them a depth PK center option for playoffs and down the stretch if Matthews is out longer. With the team having this kind of season and armed with a 1st and 2 2nds it's very likely some depth will be acquired.
Coming out of the deadline with some extra center depth with no real prospects moved and still 3 picks in the first two rounds would be a win in my books. |

Winning the Matthews lotto was the worst thing for the Leafs. Now they're stuck trying to go for a Cup but without the depth, D and solid goaltending you need to win 4 7-game series and plus they have Pittsburg, Tampa, Boston to deal with. After this season, they're probably going to have give Matthews an extension close to McDavid, screwing them over cap-wise for years. - DariusKnight
Of all the things that have happened, winning the Matthews lottery was the worst. |

Dermott has been a great internal addition...agree that the D they have now will get better even without additions...they have not done too bad pulling Z from the K and Dermott is looking like a solid player they drafted and developed...then there's that other guy in the K they are apparently gonna sign...it's coming along...Rielly hasn't even peaked yet.
And Hainsey has been way better than anyone thought...it's like Leafs brass knows what they're doing or something, it's (frank)ed. |
