Uh yeah.......avoid trading Dermott and Liljegrin, for a rental. Hello! Leafs would be stupid to trade either of those two. Leafs are in NO position to make a serious run for the cup. Trade JVR and let a younger prospect get that experience. JVR alone is not going to win us a series in playoffs. Leafs are not ready and the gain from trading JVR for a premium prospect could make a difference in coming years.

Im torn about it to be honest . There the 6th best team in the league at the moment. On pace to maybe be 4th. Some teams worse then them are preparing to load up. What and i say what if they dont go for it now and things dont go as planned and they pull an Oilers and shyte the bed. But on the other hand i think they should trade all the Ufa's and get a bunch off assets, cuz to let them walk would be a waste.

Leafs would need Andersen to stand on his head and a 100% Matthews and all 4 lines running on all cylinders to make it to the Finals.

Frankly, the Leafs should be doing everything they can to position themselves for next season. Trade all pending UFAs for assets that can be used to bolster the lineup for 2018-19.

IMHO. .it's the nature of the game. .lucky breaks. .injury. .other team fold. .Washington? play above exspectations (ottawa)..a cindrella team so to speak?..lol...but if..if they traded their ufas. .it would give the younger kids playoff experience. .as did last year. .but it would have major effects? ..on the Marlies chances?..so.it would seem half?..of us want to keep the/most ufas. .and others trade them!..a perfect compromise would be a trade for a rh dman and defensive center. .who could step in now..and will be here in the years to come!

He is signed for next season already. Komarov will for sure be gone and most likely JVR. There is also the possibility of the Leafs making a big package deal.

Leivo could have a full time job next season and earn himself a quality contract going forward.

Or...Leafs could trade him for a 3rd or 4th round pick if none of the above stuff happens.
