Throwing this out there, Does Giroux get consideration for the Hart this year? I think he should for sure as really there is no clear cut runaway leader right now(Kucherov maybe for his consistentcy all year) and with the Oilers not making the playoffs can u give it to McDavid, I don't think so. - Daceroni
They'll give it to Kucherov or Malkin before Giroux ever gets a sniff of that trophy.
I like the way you're thinking, though.
Giroux is already on pace for a career year, in points and, with a hot streak, could get up over 100 before it's all said and done. |

He certainly should, but who knows. The only guy who is likely to be a lock as finalist is probably Kucherov.

Thoughts and Prayers for my Canadian friends.

I do think if G isn't a finalist, I think I'd be disappointed, despite the fact I allegedly DGAF about those subjective player awards. |

Yes I get that with Malkin(but he is just so streaky) and Kucherov which is too bad. I remember him getting snubbed for Team Canada for so long then he finally gets chosen when he probably shouldn't have went with his injury. Just not sure what else he can do this year to lead this team, he is leaving everything out on the ice every game and in my mind is the MVP and comeback player of the year. Of course as Flyer fans we may be bias but there is a good argument for sure. |

How much do you want Weise gone?
Would you entertain Ryan and Cole for Weise and McDonald - Bayareaflyer
That's crazy talk. Ryan has been in a steady free fall for years now and is still signed for 4 more years after this. MacDonald is better than Cole. All that to get rid of Weise?

Right
I said it last night, he's a useful player but people elevating them to surefire cup contenders like he's some sort of difference maker is puzzling. - Giroux_Is_God
They were a sure fire cup contender before this move.

I think there is time for Ryan to turn it around a bit with the right team, but he's not getting any younger and wingers of his ilk start going bad at age 30. |

I don't think the Giroux argument is biased at all.
Giroux is writing a great story this year. Left for dead after last year, he changed positions for the good of the team and is putting up career numbers and is top 5 in league scoring at age 30. |

He can turn it around with a different team for 7.5M a year for 4 more years. Same thought at even half the cap hit. I thought he was overrated even when he was with Anaheim.

5th that could conditionally become a 4th is fair and the most I'd go. And I'd be happy with it.
Going above that isn't worth it for a 5-6 dman on an expiring contract imo. |

An upgrade over Manning and MacDonald for sure....but god forbid we give up a draft pick since we just got rid of 3rd and over paid for our new goalie.....we really are just not ready to contend....

Condition could be minutes based in both the regular season and playoffs or something.
If he averages 18+ mins per game both in the regular season and in the playoffs it can be a 4th? Spitballing. Seems fair. |

Played pretty well in winning two Stanley cups..I don’t think the cost will be very high either. Solid guy...nothing spectacular. |
