A player has to appear on the reserve list if a team is going to retain salary.

Brassard can't just "pass through" and they retain salary.

if you have an owner of an NHL team, who isn't going to make the playoffs, and is willing to take on player salary (expiring) for draft picks, you should 100% do it.

Make that 4th a 3rd or a 4th and 5th . Ryans contract is a lot of take on. Or Ott gets Hazek and we get HOwden or Foote. DUmping Ryan should lower the return, not keep it the same IMO.
