If it is Nash for Nash, they seem to be focused in on D prospects so it would be that Fabbro fella. They also said they want established prospects didn’t they? Not picks. Preds also have a ridiculous defense already so they’d probably have a reason to trade him
- Slimtj100

I'd be happy with Fabbro. He's a puck mover and Righty.

An initial attempt at engaging a third-team has opened more doors. Still an extremely fluid situation here. Tampa Bay remains the only real trade target at this time to land Erik Karlsson.

The sense is that this trade could look absolutely massive if it happens before the Monday deadline. Tampa Bay is working Ottawa extremely hard and has been for three days now.

we need this goddamn Karlsson thing to get done so McDonagh can get done

There is no belief at this time that Erik Karlsson can be retained in Ottawa long-term. So the situation has become binary -- a trade here, or a trade in June.

Yeah. Exactly. Because team on Kalrsson would fight each other for Mcdonagh.

they should try to pull off a 30 team trade
- jimbo83

If you would have asked me last year I would have said Karlsson is one of the few true untouchables in the league...crazy how times change

McDonagh is going at the draft. Trade for Matt Tkachuk, and then we select Brady with the 5th. Book it

I do not believe Ottawa and Tampa Bay are far apart. And I do believe that Tampa Bay is seriously considering the Bobby Ryan trade piece (and engaging third or fourth teams) so as to avoid moving major pieces from current roster.

I want the Rangers in on this too. Take on Bobby Ryan. Force Ottawa and Tampa give you a really good prospect from each other.

Hearing that third teams with cap space are now getting involved in Erik Karlsson trade talks to help facilitate a potential trade. Makes sense, especially if Bobby Ryan contract is involved and contenders don't have room for it.

Ottawa is a complete joke if they trade him. Why would you continue to be a fan of that franchise?

Its the same team that was in the ECF last year. MB they should have just fired the coach. They have a lot of talent on that team.

LeBrun in his column talking Grabner and Pittsburgh:
“The Penguins tried on Michael Grabner, according to two sources, and you can imagine their surprise when division rival New Jersey ended up with the player. But I don’t think the Penguins were runner-up, either. There were 10 teams in the mix for Grabner, a source said, it was feverish interest given the player’s $1.65-million cap hit and 25 goals. Basically my sense is Pittsburgh doesn’t get Grabner unless they pay a first-round pick because they didn’t have the right prospect the Rangers wanted which New York got from New Jersey plus the second-round pick. My belief is that Pittsburgh offered a second-round pick (which won’t be as good as New Jersey’s) plus a prospect but...”

Spiteful owner who has lost money hand over fist, take it out on fans, sheds payroll, angers franchise star, franchise star is traded and loves new team. Rinse, wash, repeat.

If Tampa gets Karlsson, doesn't that kind of screw us trading McDonagh?

Nope. Because teams like Vegas, Winnipeg, Boston, Dallas and maybe Colorado need a d-man. Mcdonagh would create a bidding war. Either get Mcdonagh or be force to trade for Mike Green. Who would you rather have.

I feel like they would be the only team in on McDonagh. I would want Boston and Tampa to be both bidding on him. But idk, maybe I don't know what I am saying haha

You have lost your damn mind. His contract runs for like another 50 years. The Rangers aren't going to suck forever ... hopefully.

If you could get one of Raddysh, Howden, Foote or Katchouk out of tampa and Colin white out of Ottawa in exchange for Bobby Ryan's contract, do it.
