I like the deal. Keeps him close. It’ll be a mid round pick (one of the highest available from a playoff team). Get a Dman who they obviously have seen a lot being who his teammate is. It’s Michael Grabner...no way you’re getting a #1. Love Grabs but would never give a 1 for him

Yeah! The Devils "Grabbed'r" away from your Leafs, and even greater so away from Gorton.

if the least he does is help get Shestorkin over here, it's worth it

Really hoping this one works out and that we draft a Dubinsky or Stephan like player with that second round pick as we’ve done in the past, and that Rykov is a late blooming steal. Because I hate giving Grabner to the Devils.

Rangers and Devils trading is just wrong but I think it’s a fair deal.

If Grabner gets us into the playoffs it’s great for us. If he goes back to NY after the season it’s great for you.

Grabner will now be among the pretty rare guys to have played for the Islanders, Rangers and Devils. P.A.P, Beezer, Asham, Dunham, Weeks Mike Mottau and few others...

I remember the day the trade happened, well getting the newspaper the next day

I was 8 years old, and the newspaper had the pictures of the 5 guys the Rangers were trading in the deal and I was broken hearted because Pat Hickey was part of the deal

you think you love Zuccarello? Pat Hickey was my guy

Beck has always been my favorite Ranger, even more so than Leetch or Zuccarello.

A couple of videos of Yegor on youtube. There's another that is a condensation of every shift he played in a game.

After a shot of Nyquil and my 1st good night sleep this week it's a decent deal, one that can't judged until later, hope Grabs resigns

I don't know what the market is, I think they could have gotten more considering Vatrano got a 3rd and a high 3rd at that, if we find out inside info on other offers my first response may be more worthy, let's see what Nash and Mac bring, if it's less than what we think there too then my reaction may be the same

No way. He’s a 3rd liner. They got a top 50 pick and a prospect. That’s pretty damn good.
Nash has to be a #1 and a prospect at worse

would you have preferred a late round 1st rounder instead of the Devils second ( I say like 48th) and this Russian kid?

Thats a LOT for a guy that the other team will have for 20 games and a playoff run. Best to Reset Expectations. 1st and a 4th I'd be very happy with

Vatrano is younger with less pedigree but won’t be a UFA after the year like Grabner. Florida did overpay for him. As I wrote, we hoped for a first but likely expected a second. New Jersey is paying for 20 games of Grabner, surrendering what might be the 40th or so pick and decent prospect back. Gorton did well here and likely took best deal, ignoring that trade was with New Jersey, as he should.

If this pick ends up in the top 16 in the 2nd round it's a win, the Devils are no lock for the playoffs, their goaltending with Schneider out is suspect at best

Wonder what they do with Graves now, do they qualify him or if they aren't so they trade him for a late pick now?
