I know he would but if you can 1st round pick, and not all have be this year, they could be over time. The more you have, the better chance you have at doing this rebuild right. Get as much high profile talent as you can.

Not to bring it back, it's not Rykov's skill I'm worried about. He was the Devils best D prospect, was good in 2 WJC and is playing in a men's league at 20. It's the uncertainty of him ever leaving.

I think the devils deal is more about the 2nd rder then Rykov. But the Russian connections I think means something also

I just think signing guys next of season defeats some of what the purpose is right now. Lay low for a year take a beating and then hit the market again. Not sure of UFAs in 19-20 tho, and the talent available
