At this point literally my only gripe with him is the weird 4th line love affair and Konecny in the doghouse, for lack of a better term.

My dude gave the slugs 2 shifts in the final 4 mins yesterday! Bruhhh

Gotta love Weise getting powerplay time (that's sarcasm for you keeping score at home). On the bright side, Patrick is learning to play Simmonds hockey!

If Manning can’t go Saturday, please bring Sanheim up or make a deal. I don’t want to see Alt in the lineup.

I was at the game and the Manning injury looked like an arm or shoulder thing. He was cradling his arm just after he got hit. I don't know what's been reported.

He immediately went up the tunnel when he finally came off the ice. I know he gets ragdolled in fights, but he is a sturdy guy, so just judging from his demeanor after the hit that hurt him (it all literally happened in front of me) and his going up the tunnel after, I'd be stunned if he was available on Saturday.

Hate seeing the Devils grab Grabner. We could use his speed

The way he was hold his arm against his body, it could be as bad as a separation

I kind of think he is overrated. I prefer others to Grabner.

This would be a great time to bring him up, he seems to have played well with the Phantoms since being sent down. The final 20 games should give him more than enough time to prove him belongs on this roster for the playoffs.

Plus....Hextall...please find a solid 4th line player, its time to sit Dale for good.

Glove positioning has always been a weakness for Petr. He'll leave a big gap between his glove and the post. He cheats sometimes going side to side resulting in some easy goals from time to time.

He has such great reflexes though so he makes up for it. Shooters shoot high on him because of the glove positioning though. He's worked on it and improved a little bit but it's still his main weakness IMO.

I bet you guys love his puck handling ability. It's like having an extra defenseman back there. Just like Hexy back in the day.

- gergeswillems

I knew about his stick handling prior to the trade. It will be nice but I think it caught our defenseman by surprise on two occasions tonight. They were expecting him to just stop and leave the puck and he flung it up ice. Once they are used to it I see a lot of fast breaks going the other way with guys like Jake g tk coots

I think after this run and display how good this team is and can be when we are right there within 1 point of first after going win less in 10 straight, Hexy owes it to this team to try make an upgrade at the deadline in some way, whether it's a top 4 defenseman or even bottom 6 forward for depth scoring etc. Guys have played to well to just not send them a sign they are deserving of making a solid run.

I’d rather keep the assets after the Mrazek trade. Lindblom entering the lineup can be viewed as that upgrade to the forward unit. He definitely is.

When Simmonds returns, send Weise back to the press box and move Raffl back to 4th line. He is a useful forward with not the best hands who the coach can move up and down in the lineup. Im encouraged Hakstol moved Lindblom up the lineup this early. They aren't going to move Filp or Lehtera unless there is an injury, The 3rd pair d needs to be addressed. Gudas will get a long least because he is RH. Last minute of the game, he is paired with Provorov not by coincidence.

I hope hexy does something to upgrade a weakness on this team.Devils did something you know pitt and wash are going to upgrade as well.If lindblom continues his play he can help out that 3rd line once simmonds and tk come back.I really feel philly can pass wash.Pitt will take 1st.Really another 3rd 4th line player or a d man will do Sanheim isnt ready i dont care what he is doing in the A.

Roster expands after the trade deadline. We could see internal upgrades coming than. Lindblom clearly belongs had some hiccups and some awesome plays at the same time. Happy to see him grow. Other options could include nak or vecchione coming up to play on the 4th line or even ghoul back although I don't like him over lehtera (don't stone me)

Lindblom and a healthy tk simmer Elliot would be plenty of upgrades. If I'm making a trade it's not for a rental it's a young guy like a Hartman from Chicago who can add into the bottom 6 with potential to grow and a low cost.

My Game Observations:

- Provorov had a tough night.

- Love Mrazek's play. He was confident and looked in control. The athleticism is great. The puck handling is great to help transition out of the zone

- Gostisbehere should be a Norris candidate. His game has matured and he has turned into a top pair defensman this year.

- Once Simmonds is back i think I want Patrick still on the top unit. He is calm and his hands are so good in close. I also like it allows for more puck movement as he can set up behind the net too because of his passing. Simmonds can move to the 2nd unit and help that one

- My roster when everyone is back(unless a trade is made):

Giroux- Couturier - Konecny
Lindblom - Patrick - Voracek
Weal - Laughton - Simmonds
Raffl - Filppula - Lehtera/Weise/Leier

- 1 point from 1st in the tough Metro. This team at one point was last in the metro. I give the coach full marks for keeping this team moving forward.

I'm with you on everything except pp1. Simmer has had multiple injuries this year slowing him down taking away something he's most comfortable at when he's trying to get back to full health doesn't bode well. If we're going to make noise in the playoffs we need him to have an impact.

Lets look at some facts on that. Dale Weise only played one shift in the final 4 minutes. Lehtera played two shifts and one of them started at 19:54 with 6 seconds left in the game. Filppula played two shifts in the final 4 minutes. A big factor in player deployment in the final 4 minutes was that Sean Couturier also played two shifts but got caught out on a long extended shift from 17:47 to 19:54 that lasted 2:07 in duration. The coach favors the veteran Filppula over Laughton late in games. Many coaches will favor the experienced veteran over the younger player in that situation.

Many gripes that some have really aren't looking at the facts of the game and are really just based on who they like or don't like as a player rather than focusing on if it was sound strategy or not regardless of any bias.

With Simmonds and Konecny out the only other choices last night were Raffl, Lehtera, or Laughton.

As much as he sucks it has to be Lehtera on that 4th line. Patrick had some interesting comments regarding the pp, seemed relieved he’s not burdened with having to shoot from distance or be a primary playmaker like he was on the 2nd unit. I still want Simmonds back on the top unit.

Does anyone know if our 2nd Pp unit has a positive goal differential on the year?

No way would I keep Patrick on the first unit when Simmonds returns. Simmonds is one of the best net front PP forwards in the league.

If Simmonds gets back and they keep Lindblom at the expense of Weise/Lethera that's certainly an upgrade that doesn't cost the team anything.

I wouldn't mind adding a vet penalty killer (be it forward or defense) however.

I think a cheap veteran reliable defenseman is needed for defensive depth. I don't agree with those who want Hextall to become an all out buyer though.
