Keep hearing the Brassard trade is the difficult one to process that's why teams have yet to confirm its finalized. Can anyone shed light as to why this may be?

Now hearing Brassard would need to be traded to a 3rd team involved before going to Pit. Likely Vegas for salary retention purposes.

LOL @ Ottawa thinking they can move both Karlsson and Ryan. Ryan had a spectacular playoff last year no doubt but his contract is an albatross. I'm not even talking about his injury history and lack of consistent production. Good luck with all that Ottawa.

Brassard is a good player, not sure the Pens D will hold up, unless they make another move.

PIT-OTT deal involving Brassard is ultra-complicated, so much so that Brassard will likely first be traded to a team other than PIT. Then flipped to PIT. Hearing that third team is likely VGK. Potential for layers of salary retention.

I can think of plenty of teams but it would involve next to nothing going back to Ottawa and at least 1 albatross contract if their own. Vegas could accommodate it fairly easy with Clarkson going back to Ottawa so they can just stick him on ltir each year. Would be awesome for Vegas.

Karlsson is probably too expensive and it seems like OTT is really insistent about the Bobby Ryan thing. Which is super weird to me considering they are tearing the whole thing down over there. Ryan's contract really won't be a problem for them and is going to affect how much they can get for Karlsson.
