He'll sidestep this question, because giving a straight "yes" or "no" doesn't let him cover his ass enough. He'll then blindly support whatever decision the team makes.

So when the Flyers inevitably lose a game how many people switch to "God this team sucks"

2Real doesnt count cause its already understood he will be first saying it..

Beyond that..really happy with the top 9..line 4..not so much..looking forward to a day when that line is both youthful and useful also.

They did have an opening for a larger role in the bottom 6 and on PP2. They just chose to fill it with Lehtera instead of Lindblom.

Once Simmonds is healthy presumably you want him to be sent down since the larger role he's currently occupying won't be available and playing him on the 4th line instead of Weise or Lehtera is apparently impossible.

No they chose to do what they felt was best for Lindblom and his future development as a player. It's never been about what I want.

it is possibly true they could have brought Lindbolm up earlier, what is true is that he needed to start in LHV.

I won't takes shots at Hextall on if waiting a month to long to bring him up

- wcorvette

I personally believe that the elements of Lindblom's game that we see effective in the first two games have always been there and are NHL caliber. The Flyers wanted him to work on other elements of his game and felt that a larger role in the AHL was the best place for Lindblom to work on those elements.

Who there thinks this combination of Hextall quotes and facts qualifies as puzzling:

“He played first line in junior as a 20-year-old,” Hextall said. “He’s actually a decent player. He’s not a guy who can’t play the game, not a guy who just goes out there and plays four minutes. He can actually play the game.”

Goulbourne's average ice time was 5 minutes and 35 seconds

“What we’re looking for from him is a little bit of energy,” general manager Ron Hextall said before Thursday’s game. “He’s got outstanding speed, he’s a heavy player, he’s got a heavy stick, and he’s a good penalty killer.”

Goulbourne's average ice time on the penalty kill was zero

Highlight of his career will be that shift where he hit Piet from St Louis.

This is probably better than any career highlight most of us will have. Bastard.

It's also a better career highlight than Chris VandeVelde has ever had. VandeVelde's skates, on the other hand...

so I've been away and haven't had much internet access, so I'm sure this has been discussed already, but what happens when all 3 goalies are healthy? Mrazek really seems active in net, the guy is moving a lot. He also seemed really small in the net. Overall I liked what I saw from him. During the game they mentioned he struggles when not playing a lot, so how would he handle the tandem goalie situation?

Nolan really seems to playing well. Feeling more comfortable with more games, but I have to wonder how much of the concussion early in the season impacted him.

What's puzzling about it? Was Hextall referring to Goulbourne's status and ability as an NHL player or as a player who has played at the levels he played at? Hakstol decides how much ice time and in what situations a player gets, not Hextall.

Highlight of my career was the time at the Spectrum, during a relatively quiet lull, and sitting just a few rows behind the visitors bench, I loudly insinuated that Tomas Sandstrom engaged in sexual intercourse with his maternal parent. Besides the laughter from the stands, at least 2 Rags players turned and looked back into the stands for a moment.

Also, Sandstrom, at no time, issued any type of denial. (frank)ing mother(frank)er!!

And no, I DID NOT SAY FRANK!!!

I think Neuvirth becomes the odd man out and gets waived. If Mrazek plays well, he probably becomes the primary starter unless/until he really falters.

If Mrazek is playing well for this team i think they will ride him in the playoffs. Even once declared healthy, Elliott is coming back from a core injury. Still takes time to get into top form. I think Neuvirth is done for the year and possibly it could be the end of his Flyers tenure.

No one is likely getting waived when it comes to goalies. Neuvirth probably won't be healthy til well beyond the deadline so they will probably send him down, as allowed in the CBA, to get a game or 2 in at the AHL level (just to make sure he can get through a game without a limb dropping off), and then bring him back up to be the #3 for the last couple games and the playoff run. Team routinely carry 3 goalies during the playoffs.

This of course assumes that Elliott is ready to go before Neuvirth and that may not be the way it shakes out.

Grade 10. High school lunch hour intermural floor hockey “league”.

Going up against the grade 12 team mainly compromised of the players that actually played for the school ice hockey team.

Wore my Flyers jersey playing goalie. We won 1-0. Usually the whole school turns out for these games and there were a few “Philly Philly” chants. Had an incredible game.

I am cocky about this, even with how sad it is hah.
