Wait, he's having a press conference? When? I can't wait to hear him completely misunderstand the team's flaws and double down on supporting his head coach despite evident and glaring flaws in his coaching. - MaximumBone
Apparently 10am today.... Seems to be a well kept secret for some reason |

So far it's wholly evident that this management team doesn't actually value any manner of statistical measure when he calls Letestu a good veteran and proven playoff performer despite all evidence that he (and his line) have been so bad that he's more than negated McDavid's positive effect this year. |

Zuccarello would be a solid add if they can manage it. He perfectly fits the bill of skilled, fast, good role model for Yamamoto and hard-working; only problem is he's not much of a shooter. He'd be an excellent linemate for Draisaitl, in my eyes.
Much like the last few years, I'd also be looking at Hartman. |

Zuccarello would be nice, but I’d prefer a player with term. Same goes for Hartman. |

My condolences Rafi. Glad you’re still with us. - Wildschwein
It was terrible but not life threatening. What it did do was stop me from working out, doing long hikes ( a favorite of mine), and skating. It’s sucked. |

Ha ha! i love watching my favorite sports club, the Buffalo Sabres. I don't hurt at all on the inside from the things people say about Peter Chiarelli on this board - jcragcrumple
I hope Holland becomes your Hockey Ops president and Chia your new GM. Make you wish you had hired Milbury. |

Hartman is an RFA so term doesn't worry me. I reckon his next contract could be made to be a long term deal a tad below what Gallagher got (~3mil). In my eyes, he's exactly the type of player we need to be looking for; young, low(er) cost, high energy and reasonably skilled.
As for Zucc, the argument makes sense being 30 years old and looking at a likely pay raise but I wouldn't let that shy me away from getting him. He's got at least another 3 years of effective top-6 hockey in him and might even have more. He fits the Marty St Louis mold of player so he could be effective beyond 33. |

My concern with lack of term isn’t necessarily future costs, but rather a desire to remain in Edmonton. The McDavid effect might not be enough if the team isn’t winning, and this years performance has erased many of the positives that last year produced. |

Winning the lottery would be absurd, but if it happened I'd almost immediately look at getting rid of Sekera to an Eastern team for a roster player and a pick (Girgensons and a 2nd). Following that, I'd explore the possibility of Klefbom or Nurse for a comparable RHD (Barrie or Trouba).
Nurse- Larsson
Dahlin- RHD
Russell- Benning
Davidson, Auvitu
Then I'd buyout Russell next year if they couldn't find a suitor (Ottawa seems like a fit) and proceed to melt faces as Jones, Bear, Lagesson, Samorukov, Berglund and Marino percolate in the minors - MaximumBone
I have a feeling we win... its sad and pathetic but it would not (frank)ing surprise me! |

Drai being hurt most of this season really fuct things up IMO... Had he been in boss mode (ultra dominant) like he is now- I think we may have went places with just those two players dominating- or at the very least not be bottom dwelling... Face it outside of McDavid, Nurse, Drai and hon. mention of Nuge prior to injury the rest of the roster is hot garbage... If indeed Klefbom needs shoulder surgery as what some have rumored- I am not sure why we are delaying that to happen if true... The rest of the team can be traded- but not for all picks- we still need a roster... |

Are you referring to Pacioretty or Domi? Your reference could imply either. |

Fair concern considering reality. However, if you cross off all the names of players whose contracts expire in the next year or two, you're crossing off most of the players who we could reasonably expect to be available. Think about a skilled-winger trade market without all the following names: Skinner, Nyquist, Pacioretty, Zuccarello, Simmonds, Silfverberg and Johansson just off the top of my head. Who's left? Hoffman and Gallagher? |

No! You're not allowed to feel that way now Every Oilers fan needs to feign the attitude of "no chance we win the lottery" and be vocal about that every time it gets brought up! We need to collectively act like we did prior to the McDavid lottery and maybe the hockey gods will see fit to grant us favour... again. |
