players are so afraid to be traded they find themselves injuries. Weber to a foot, Price the head... next will be Patch. (frank)in losers.
in other news, the female dog is better in court than on the court. no big surprise there. |

Can we guillotine Molson or Bergevin or whoever's genius idea it was to sign Price to that extension last summer? Having him and Weber taking up 18+ million injured half the time and declining besides is not only poor asset management, but it's going to cripple their cap when/if they finally rebuild. |

I don't want the current crew in charge of rebuilding anything ... I wouldn't even let them rebuild an outhouse.
They have proven they can't draft and/or develop players, also their evaluation of current assets has been abysmal.
EDIT: With Weber out for the season and now Price ... the tank is unofficially on. This is going to get pretty for the rest of the season ... buckle up boys and girls. |

True ...
In other news ... I can't remember seeing so many empty seats at the Bell Centre, not that I'm surprised. Ticket scalpers must be starving.
Geof Molson must be happy ... fans are telling him that enough is enough. |

I did say when/if. The ownership group are so degenerate I expect them to try and have a consistently mediocre playoff team year after year to squeeze out every penny from playoff revenue, even if they never have a realistic chance at a cup. No arguments with firing them from top to bottom, but it's not going to happen with current ownership. Our team is (frank)ed for all of the foreseeable future even if by some miracle they did rebuild. |

I sure as hell don't either, but somehow I doubt Molson is going to clean house. Let's see if they can out tank the coyotes. |

Don't have to out tank them, just need to win the draft lottery.

Well the only way to influence that at all is by out tanking as many teams as possible. |

yep, I don't expect much tbh. they'll probably draft 4-5-6, which isn't a big deal.
looks like there's Dahlin and then the others. |

Maybe the NHL will throw the 'Yotes a bone this year and put in the fix after they lost out on Matthews. |

In Montreal, you can put a mediocre product on the ice for so long until your bottomline gets pounded by fans refusing to buy tickets.
This year, a lot of season tickets fans are not showing up to the games anymore ... but next year, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of them just refused to renew.
They do have TV deals to fall back on but if their ratings falls through the floor, advertisers won't be so inclined to spend big bucks.
The only thing the ownership group will be able to do in the next few years will be to sell hope to fans ... and that can't be done without a complete overhaul of the organization. |

I'd feel different if there were a bunch of centers in the top 5 vs mostly w and d. |

My concern is that we have a repeat of last year; a good regular season to sell "hope" and then we have a poop playoffs. We've literally come full circle from when Bergevin was hired. We were literally in the exact same spot (drafting 3rd overall) and now here we are again with (frank) all to show for it. I don't see anything breaking this depressing cycle. I hope I'm wrong.
