I think it's about where everyone thought it would be. That seems like a reasonable price for Grabner. I don't know anything about the prospect the Devils gave up, though.

I was thinking maybe swap Ferkland and Benny. Ferland needs to get back to his 3rd line style gritty pressure game and then think about contributing to scoring, and Bennett needs to play with our top line to realize he does have a scoring touch.

I don't know how he put up points in St. Louis and Washington. He's not really good at anything and only decent at a few things.

Grabner was going to get a second from somebody. If the Devils continue their slow downward spiral it may be the highest second round pick they could get. NYR's are selling the farm for the future so I don't think they care about the in division trade.

From what I’ve read the player isn’t planning on coming to the NHL anytime soon.

I thought a second rounder and a player not planning on coming to the NHL for a rental on a good contract and on pace for more than thirty goals, was a very fair price especially within the same devision.
