Bad call by Babs to start Andersen. He looks tired tonight

So many games played and with BOS & TB coming up this would have been a good night to rest Freddie.

- AngryWhiteMale

Andersen the very least of this teams worries

Guys I may be in the minority here, but I have a really bad feeling that the Leafs giving up any significant assets for McDonagh will end up being the same bullpoop we used to see from the Leafs... throwing away the future to chase fools gold.

I just don't see how it makes sense to sign him long term and who knows if we could or should afford it. He is already not the same player he was 3 years ago, and I don't think he brings us a cup, and as a rental... he is damn expensive.

Stick to the plan. Develop our own players, unless we can get something valuable without compromising the future.

- Aetherial

agreed... stick with the draft, develop from within...

don't need to mortgage teh future...

I don't think he looks tired. He just doesn't look dialed in. Same as every other Leafs player tonight. Right from the get go, they didn't look up for it
- walshyleafsfan

Could be mentally tired which could cause him to not looked dialed in. The Leafs usually play like this and Andersen usually has to bail them out which at some point becomes mentally tiring.

Could be. I doubt all 19 of them are mentally tired though. That would be weird.

Not everybody is looking at a breakaway when they have the stick knocked out of their hand. And if it wasn't a penalty to knock the stick out of your opponents hands, everybody would constantly slash their opponents sticks in an attempt to make sure no attacking player ever had a stick in their hand.
- Unholy_Goalie

You mean the guy that was dead tired after killing the penalty?

Either way it didn’t result in a goal. Still doesn’t make it a penalty though.

And to the rest of your point a stick check and slash are completely different. One is a penalty and the other is not. It is that easy.

Lots of frustrating games this year. Down a goal and getting just dialed in by the Islanders.

No, I find it laughable that you can't differentiate between the rulebook and how the game is actually called.

And my unanswered question remains the elephant in the room...

Rulebook doesn't care if the guy is tired or not. It was a penalty.

Rule 56, Interference, 56.2: A minor penalty shall be imposed on a player who deliberately knocks a stick out of an opponent’s hand, or who prevents a player who has dropped his stick or any other piece of equipment from regaining possession of it.

So (frank)ing stupid. How are they going to call Brown for interference and ignore the 3 times the NYI just did the same on that shift. (frank) off

I'm not saying the Leafs suck. I'm saying,to a man, they're not engaged tonight. Look very distracted woth something.

Can't pass
Can control the puck
Pucks in everyone's skates
PP has been shocking.
PK has been passive
Andersen isn't his usual self.
Heard Marleau's name twice tonight

Should be back to normal come Tuesday.

Matthews knocked the stick out of a guys hand who had a breakaway. That's the way the game is called and that's how it's written in the book.

Your unanswered question is a laughable attempt to move the goal posts because it has (frank) all to do with the fact that the penalty was called as it was written in the rule book.
