Imo i think it will turn out the opposite if Tampa gets Karlsson. I totally see the Chemistry being disrupted and them shyting the bed. Not gonna argue just my Op.
- fansince72

He has way too much talent to (frank) up the chemistry. They have guys they could pair him with that could cover up for him, Hedman most of all, a great goalie behind him, he wouldn't have to PK. And the passes he could send out to Kucherov and Stamkos. If they added him, they'd have too many weapons to stop.

Wrong

Phaneuf had 65% Offensive zone starts in Calgary. He was sheltered and when he came to Toronto he was not, which exposed him.

Don't compare the two players just because they both play defense

- Santo_44

#2 in ice time in Calgary when they traded him. You were wrong. Deal with it.

He has put up good numbers his whole career and his shot suppression and shot generation rivals a number 1 d

stop arguing for the sake of arguing. He is a top pairing d

- Santo_44

Not a very good one.

"Remember how Bozak was our #1 center for a long time? Not because he was actually a good #1 center but just because he was the only decent center we had. That's McDonagh as a #1 D. He's nowhere near being a top #1 D."

wait wait wait. So you say Bozak being played as a #1 center and being given mins as a number 1 center does not make him a number 1 center................................but then you go ahead and say Phaneuf is a number 2 because he was given number 2 mins.......wow, you are one big joke

you can't pull any facts to support your argument that Mcdonaug is not a top pairing d, words mean nothing, especially yours

Phaneuf definitely was considered a top pairing D at the time. A bad one, but that's what was expected of him by most people. He was #2 for Calgary in ice time when they traded him to the Leafs.

(frank) McDonagh.

That's what Phaneuf was and that's what McDonagh is. Top pairing because of ice time but it doesn't mean they're good at it. Get the point?

Facts are, McDonagh has 1 year left on his deal so he could walk for nothing after next year, his offensive numbers aren't impressive and he's not worth spending assets on.

how about the leafs promote Liljegren to the big club next season, and they also keep the 1st and conditional pick along with any shred of their self respect as an organization, and vancouver keeps tanev
- TheMussel

I think he might need one more season in the AHL.

He's come a long way already, with his defensive game. Just from the rookie tournament to the World Juniors he took a big leap. He's still got a ways to go, but he's improved so much as is that I can't see it not continuing.

Personally, I wouldn't trade this guy no matter what.

EDIT: forgot a pretty important word.
