There is a lot of like about Bennett. He's a really good skater, really tough, gritty, can score and he's 21. Lot's of untapped potential. The bad, he takes way too many penalties and so far very inconsistent. The Flames have given him no help in the way of line mates so if Boston can give him someone to play with, he'd probably do well. As a Flames fan, I'd be super pissed if there isn't really good YOUNG player coming back.

Can't wait to watch the Penguins acquire Evander Kane for a 2024 conditional 4th round pick while Hextall sits on his hands and refuses to seize the opportunity the Flyers have to make a deep run.

exactly...and even if it wasn't, everyone knows the leafs wouldn't trade Matthews for anything less than McDavid, so it's a moot point. Make that statement about any other player in the league, doesn't matter, leafs aren't moving him. Might as well just say "sens wouldn't trade Karlsson to the leafs no matter what"

I agree with you the bad season after the ankle injury does scare me a little. I know some team will pay the ransom though I just dont want it to be the leafs. On the other hand bringing up the fact that karlsson is -28 as a warning sign and then saying you would rather sell the farm for OEL. Doesnt make a lot of sense considering OEL is -36 and has had just as many issues as karlsson when watching him play in defensive end.

Karlsson is a declining asset.. But yeah Ottawa wouldn't want to rob Toronto by giving the 1 season + playoffs of him in exchange for one of the top young players in the league.

i wouldn't at all be surprised to see Bennett go but if its in a "blockbuster" i dont really see how Boston is a fit, they're not selling off any good top six guys to my knowledge. they're selling low on bennett as is, anyway, he wouldnt be the main piece

If he's in a "blockbuster" it will be in a deal for someone like Hoffman or Pacioretty
