I'm sure the front office knows there is no play offs this year. It's all about these kids getting more comfortable with the system and their job on the ice. Playing instead of thinking, the game is so fast at this level its no surprise the Hawks are 2nd in the league at giving up odd man advantages.

Personally, I think the Hawks are a heavy PR marketing organization. I fully expect them to tow the party line that they are gonna make a run at the playoffs, no matter how bleak things are. They literally need to go something like 17-3 over the last 20...

Schmaltz between Duclair and Debrincat was quite a good line tonight.

They were.
I'm ready to move on from Jurco with AA and Kane though.

This is quite literally the first time I've heard that opinion. Stan didn't give up a lot. He gave up a late first and a fringe NHL prospect.
- JRoenick97

Giving up your First Round draft choice for a non-impactful Rental is a lot. For quality teams it may be even more important. Otherwise the team gives itself very little chance to replenish. The Hawks just took Jokiharju with the 29th pick last year and everyone seems universally impressed with him. Giving up a First Round draft choice, even if you win the Cup, is a big price to pay. Let’s not forget that Q despised Vermette - Q certainly didn’t seem to believe that he needed him or that he was worth a First Round draft choice.

Swap Saad with Jurco and let the captain skate with Jurco and Wingels, at $10.5M, #19 should be able to carry that line. Oh, wait . . .

True if the rental is actually non-impactful. When almost 20% of the 16 wins the Hawks needed for a Cup came directly off the player in questions stick, that actually means Vermette had an impact.

For anyone who thinks Vegas just got in the trade to help Pittsburgh win another Cup your wrong. There was lots of talk that Winnepeg had been working HARD to get Brassard for their Playoff push so when Pittsburgh and Ottawa hit a snag Vegas agreed to help out in order to keep him away from a team in the West. In return they were able to get a power forward in Reaves plus a high 4th (Vancouver's from the Pouliot trade). Not great by any means but there was a reason they got involved
- Savetheembers33

Wrong - There was no reason Vegas needed to get involved - tthey are winning the cup anyway. Pit vs Vegas final.

Is today the day or is Stan going to wait it out and roll the dice. Ruuta looked like the Hawks best defenceman last night. If Kempny fetched a 3rd can Ruuta get them the same or more. Hartman doesn't seem to fit this team and may do well under either different coaching or a different system. Anisimov was again solid yet unspectacular. It'll be interesting to see tonights scratches vs. Columbus.

As of 11:21 last night: "multiple teams" inquiring on Anisimov. Columbus making the strongest push (now verified by 2nd, independent source). Add WPG to teams (SJ, MN) asking about Wingels. Murphy's name in talks with PHI. More to come.

Other than the fact that his father is an Asst Coach there, trying to understand why Philly would need or want Connor Murphy and who they would be willing to send back.

Hextall is not the type of GM who gets soaked in a deal. Won't be giving up Morgan Frost to get Murphy but he does have 2 #1 picks this year.

Good to see interest building on AA. If Stan can drive up the price, that would be ideal.

However, as I stated before, be ccareful what ypu wish for dumping a guy like AA. The Hawks C depth is not particularly strong these days.

However, if Jenner or Murray are the type of (realistic) pieces coming, that could be a win for Stan.

Jenner would be nice but he's a center and it doesn't appear the Jackets have a lot of center depth. I realize they'd be getting a center in AA but just trying to understand why from a CBJ perspective.

Would you do AA for Seth Jones straight up?
