@PierreVLeBrun

Volume of calls started to pick up on Plekanec today as soon as news leaked out of Brassard trade. Habs should have enough there by Monday to make a decision.

Surely people are calling on AA if Plekanec is getting that big of interest.

McD took Stan’s phone away and won’t allow him to answer any calls.

CBJ has been losing A LOT lately (I know bc I have Bobrovsky in fantasy). They are trying to win this year, and Big Art is the perfect addition to their youthful Centers who have underperformed in Dubois and Wennberg. Hopefully Stan was just posturing with the reported "unavailable" status for Anisimov. Would be great to reverse fortunes at the Trade Deadline and snag an elite prospect and 1st round pick from someone......
- EnzoD

Dubois has underperformed? I think he's delivered everything that can be expected of a kid. I'd take that boy in a heartbeat and give up plenty to get him.

The guys who have underperformed are stiffs like Dubinsky and Foligno; Jenner and Atkinson haven't done much either. And somebody there also didn't think that Karlsson guy in Vegas was much of anything.

So the league rejected the Brassard trade. I’m not sure why but if I had to guess I’d say it’s Stan’s fault.

HEY!!! You stop right there mister. The last thing we need here is facts getting in the way of a good narrative.
Half this board would root against Stan beating cancer, feckin losers.
Can't wait for tsj's next stoopid trade he heard via bobs neighbor infecting his sheeple

I believe this was brought up in the past, but is there any chance that Hayden can play center on this team? I know he played a little bit of C in the past. Everyone keeps talking about getting more size going down the middle. He's big, relatively fast, has no problems going to the net...

Is he only playing wing in Rockford?

@RealKyper

Hearing @NHL has rejected the Brassard trade unless @penguins @Senators @GoldenKnights can restructure the trade to leagues satisfaction.

It's funny because about an hour ago I was adding up the numbers on this deal and it looked like the Pens were short on cap space.
I had prepared my post and then changed my mind about submitting because I realized that Pittsburgh must be demoting someone immediately. I guess my first thoughts were correct because the Pens are now using a 3rd party to gain that cap space.

I've heard similar. Although he had some early season jitters to start his NHL career, he has since played more steady. He doesn't have impressive offense at this point so my guess is he'll have gradual increases over the next few years. If he hits his potential, he's projected to be a rough-n-tumble forward like the Tkachuk Brothers. I'd take DuBois in a heartbeat.

Sounds like it has to do with the salary retention. Vegas can’t retain salary on a player that they don’t have yet.

Rutherford is that proverbial salesman who throws sh$t at the wall and hope it sticks. Bad GM. A good GM is an accountant who's columns of numbers add up correctly before he makes a trade. That's our guy.

Agree. Reaves was an amazing pick up. And his moves in Carolina were always awesome too

This is quite literally the first time I've heard that opinion. Stan didn't give up a lot. He gave up a late first and a fringe NHL prospect.
- JRoenick97

The same thing the amazing Rutherford is trying to give for Brassard and adding Ian Cole.

But Rutherford is amazing while Stan sucks

Pretty sure the working conditions in Pitt are different from Chicago. Rutherford probably doesn't even own or know how to use a calculator and just tells Mario by voicemail what he's doing. Mario is at a golf course somewhere and doesn't even bother answering for 3 days and then just tells him it better work or I might fire you.

Meanwhile Stan probably has to run Excel spreadsheets with 30 different scenarios and go to the Board Room to explain why he's sending Jeff Glass to Rockford.

LeBrun:

The league told all 3 teams involved that the deal(s) as originally presented weren't acceptable. So deal(s) being reworked.

Source involved in the deal says he's confident the deal will still get done...

Let me rephrase...Dubois being asked to do too much for a Rookie? I agree 100%.. I would trade every sub 6' forward the Hawks have to land him.

Didnt the all-world rutherford trade former 1st round pick Sutter, a first round pick, and former 2nd round pick for Jordan Staal - and gave him 10yr 60mil...for a .55ppg production?? Hahaha

Or how about the money he gave Alex Semin? A 5yr 35mil contract in 2013?

Lmao. Ok...he's a god

Rephrase accurate.

And recall something - Kekolainen shocked everybody at the draft and skipped over his Finnish countryman who wound up in Edmonton to take Dubois instead.

Sorry guys and gals... a lot of things happening on the rumour / life front.

Instead of the blog, here is the UPDATE:

So the "weirdness" thing has to do with Bowman and Crawford.

Bowman, to me, sounds like he's staying as I've heard that he's been giving the reigns to move guys (bigger than Lance Bouma).

According to my guy, Stan is getting the green light and being able to make "different" type of moves than he's accustom to based on the fact that this is his first true "seller deadline". Ie. he wants to get super creative and can help teams out to a certain extent.

Seguing into Crawford, I heard the he may be placed on the LTIR to make room for team so to send over a player with a large cap hit

That would allow said team to add a big piece on Monday.

I will keep you guys update.
