IF HEALTHY, Crow would be worth MULTIPLE prospects and picks. I'd take him over ANY GOALIE in the NHL to win in the playoffs. A team looking to win a Cup would struggle to do better than Crow when the lights are on.

That is precisely why I am OPPOSED to moving him. Unless the Hawks go full blown rebuild Crow should backstop this team until further notice. That boy is one boy who earned his 6 million per. Two time Cup champion and damn near single-handedly took us to the 2014 Cup (wanna see a beast goalie? Go back to that season and watch his work versus St. Louis and Minnesota...simply brilliant).

Crow STAYS in Chicago if I am running the show.

That said, his health is a big ???

Q's handling of goalies since Crow went down has been questionable -- for sure! Just like his handling of the D, i.e. Murphy, Kempny, and overplaying Keith.
- BMWChiFan

Actually it is the GOALIES that have been questionable.

it wasn't until the last month in my opinion that Forsberg had games where he didn't give up a stinker, even the early Oiler overtime game where the TV staff has his gonads so tight he couldn't breathe.

The extended zone time in their end killed them along with the sub par subs in the crease...Forsberg is young with upside, but he is not close to showing 60 minute capabilities...

I don't think Q is going anywhere, and it serves no purpose, and there isn't going to be an rash GM change because they do have an inside guy ready and they aren't going outside without an in depth search, and investigation.
- wiz1901

Still wondering who the inside guy is???? And how would it be “rash” if they have someone ready?

Who is this inside man you're referring to??

Typo Edzo

Sorry guys!
I don't think Q is going anywhere, and it serves no purpose, and there isn't going to be an rash GM change because they do NOT have an inside guy ready and they aren't going outside without an in depth search, and investigation.

Now I started adding the profiles for the players i9n this 2018 Draft can you find the typos in them? (seriously, I found four today...I need a dictation program that doesn't hear my pauses and keystrokes and write pooh pooh...)

As soon as JJ gets rink fixed, there is a huge piece I did about the hawks plight...it was a non frustrating way to let it out....maybe up tomorrow...

Q will never be reassigned within the organization, because he wouldn't agree to it. I'd put money on that even if they offered that position, he'd turn it down to continue coaching as I'm sure he may try to make a run at over 1000 all time wins. He also is getting up there in age, and if he wants to continue coaching, he doesn't have many prime years left (he's nearly 60, so what maybe 5-10 years left?) Plus, he'd get snapped up in a second by the majority of teams in the league looking for a coach.

On the Dineen front, you have to remember he's a Q guy. I doubt Bowman would promote him and would instead look to put "his guy" in place. Bowman may look to a more developmental coach given how the team has taken a turn to be much younger this season. I think he knows the window is all but shut on being a contender, and he's going to really have to think long and hard about what to do with the core as they continue to age (Toews, Kane, Crawford, Keith, Seabrook) if he indeed looks to rebuild on the fly. And FYI, I'm not calling Seabrook "core" because he's good, but because of his longevity on the team and his contract.

Pulford's son in law...nah, I pass.

Stan.

Because it isn't like they ever put Stan on an island....these decisions were not riverboat gambling ones where the rest of the management got sent a text that they were done...they all were involved...so unless you toss the Gm and the guys above and have a brilliant up & comer who needs no aid in runny g the show, he is not going NOW just like Q isn't going.

In a year, no payoffs maybe he becomes the goat, but as I say in that article you will be reading soon, this soft rebuild started earlier than we realized....(that sounded like such a teaser...)

I say that the Hawks are going to trade Murphy and Hartman. The question is to who?I could see Ottawa or even Winnipeg . If nothing happens at the trade deadline, look for a shake up of management in April .I can't see the boys upstairs letting this go another year of Q and Bowman together.

The erosion of the season ticket holder base is coming. I sit in the 100 level center ice and many are not renewing. I personally have been called 3 times this week by my season reservation rep, "Hoping that everything is OK, and to give her a call if I need anything." We all know that this is dog whistle language for ARE YOU RENEWING NEXT YEAR.

Imagine you're a chef
And your job is to serve a steak dinner to the President tonight
But the restaurant General Manager takes your last slab(s) of somewhat serviceable beef and trades them in the market for a plate of average chicken wings
And still expects you to turn the wings into a full course steak dinner.

You'd look pretty silly, am I right?

Now do you understand Q's point of view?

AA and Patrick Kane for Werenski and their #1 pick. Enzo, I'm sure you would be totally thrilled with that - tcap relief and a puck moving Dman.

What you don't understand is all 5 players have to work as one and you get so caught up in every little thing he does that you can't see he's teaching these players how to be better hockey players mentally. Even with line juggling, news flash Babcock and Sullivan do it. Guess what they will also play defenseman on their off side?

Do you know Crosby said watching how the Blackhawks played and how 5 guys played as one unit and how a defenseman would be active in the offensive zone and the forward would covet for him, its the most effective brand of hockey he's ever seen?

If you believe that Q is a great teacher - whew. Even many of his staunchest supporters acknowledge this is a weakness. That Q ihas been a failure in many areas does not mean that pointing out the multiple failures is unfair to him. The D has been a mess from personnel choices to on-ice play. The Forwards have been a mess from personnel choices to on-ice play. Constant mistakes regarding who dressed - constant and even bigger mistakes concerning pairings and lines. He also messed up the goaltending sticking with Glass way too long.

Remember also that this year has followed 2 straight First Round exits including a 4 game sweep last year. This year’s struggles combined with 2 straight First Round exits does not scream “Great Coaching’. Sorry Dots.

I think Q is a good coach. I don't agree with having Keith and Toews on the power play, but those 2 on the power play are a small problem of the Hawks ability to win games.

The coach isn't on the ice when the defenseman and forwards get caught so far up ice they surrender odd man advantages left and right with an AHL goalie who is on his knees as soon as the forwards enter the zone

Talent or the lack of it is the Hawks biggest problem, so many think it's the coach, it blows my mind so many fans are in denial of the lack of talent on this team especially since we've been buyers since 2009.

This year we have a bunch of boys on the team playing against men most nights. But I understand most people have to find someone to blame when in reality the culprit is father time and the hard cap.

Sorry brother I hear you. I have relatives out in Denver great place. Got to have my pizza tho especially Stuffed!
- BGKarras

Many many years ago while I was stationed in South Korea, o decided to stay in one Sunday evening and ended up ordering a pizza from the NCO club......the first pizza I ever ordered from them. Pizza was delivered in a reasonable time and it was hot- cheese and sausage. The cheese was American cheese, the sausage was thinly sliced (on the diagonal) hot dogs and I could never figure out what the red square was. Needless to say, it was the last pizza I ever touched there.

LOL in all seriousness if Stan Bowman gets a single Dman even in the same zip code as far as talent level of Jones/Werenski (without trading Kane) and I'll forgive him for his past transgressions.

I'm not going to defend or attack Q's moves but I will say this - NHL coaches aren't hired or expected to be teachers. With the schedule and CBA as it is, there is little or no time for extensive on ice instruction. Head coaches implement game plans and strategies for their teams and decide on playing personnel and how they are deployed.

Show me an NHL team with a bunch of players who require extensive teaching and I will show you a team with a bunch of players who should be in the AHL or ECHL.
