I think Seattle will be the 32nd team IMHO though. With that said, I also feel that Quebec needs a team, if only to bring back those Nords jersey's which I loved. So perhaps that could happen through relocation. Who would be a team relocated though? Florida, Arizona? - hockeylover
They would be the 2 most likely targets. The league would be better if they ha less of these teams in non-traditional markets. I understand there are exceptions to this rule, but its nuts there's teams in Phoenix and Miami and not Quebec

Look, I don't want to take away from the story that is Vegas. They're an exciting team and they put together a great tandem with Mcphee/Gallant, but they got the benefit of much different expansion rules that put the gun to many GMs head. To get players like Fleury and Neal in expansion draft is crazy to me, but still good for them Im glad there not gonna be a sideshow for a decade before being relevant - nonpoint22
I actually liked these draft rules as compared to prior. Nobody wants to suffer through a 10-60-12 season. |

I just don't understand why the olympics for hockey can't do what soccer did. Make it U21 and allow each country one "veteran." I think that is the only way to save the hockey olympics. These old random team they put together this year was horrible. And I look at the world juniors as one the most exciting events each year. NHL would than let the teams decide if their players can go who fit the criteria. It would keep most our stars in the NHL but would give budding superstars like the dahlin's of the world a chance to show off their abilities. - Tfaehner
In general, the Olympics are supposed to be for the best athletes in the world in their respective sport. Thats my feeling anyway. That's what as a fan of the Olympics I would like to see.
Its no secret that NA in general doesn't really give a rats ass about the Olympics. Or the majority of the population. Not sure why that is to be honest. |

Here would be my first criteria for relocation: If your current team location is an entire state, or collection of states, pack your bags, you're moving. |

Because first - our sport we watch most frequently aren't in it ie: football. The second is being a land of immigrants most people who do watch actually route more for their ancestry than the USA. Third I get it's supposed to be the best of the best but I thought the U21 was even more exciting. I think hockey needs to copy Soccer - the world's most popular sport - and stick to a world cup and the olympics as U21. I love the soccer world cup and I love the soccer olympics. I rarely watch any the leagues maybe the champions league finale every year thats it. |

Absolutely. Bettman is hot to tap into China so you sure as hell know he wouldn't pull that at the next olympics - nastyflyergirl
It would be great if the players called his bluff and said thanks, no thanks

I wonder how cheap Ryan Hartman from chicago would be. There are several rumors they would move him for a pick. He fits the team perfectly. Can play up and down lineup, 23 years old, plays a heavier game and good in dirty areas and had 19 goals last year. They speculated he would only require a 3rd or 4th round pick. I don't get why he's so cheap. Good advanced numbers as well |

I was up with the baby at 2 AM and watched the second half of the Canada/USA women's game. It was pretty good, and that winning goal in the shootout would beat any NHL goalie.
Also, the captain of Team Canada should have gotten 5 and a game for her elbow to the head. She got nothing. - jmatchett383

It was. I was sleeping during the fist and the start of the second.
There's clearly a drop-off in talent from the NHL, but it was still a fun game to watch. |

I was actually thinking during the second that they should make a movie loosely based on Shes the man where Vandevelde wears a wig and tries to make the women's national team |

You know...I don't think he'd make the cut. Those girls have "skill" and try to "stickhandle" and "pass" or "shoot." VandeVelde's vanilla dump and grind wouldn't fit. |

i would gladly send a 3rd for hartman but we dont have a third this year due to the mrazek conditions...so im not exactly sure what we could offer them unless we pick up another pick
saad is gonna be too pricy. i read they wanna keep anisimov but he would be great on the third line so we could shift scotty back to the 4th. wingels is trash |

You could stipulate the third round pick where as if we don't have one this year it defaults to a 5th this year and a 3rd next year etc etc. You can stipulate he stipulation. I just think he's an interesting name that fits all the criteria of a guy who can help us now and in the future with a low cost attached. |

It's a shame that some fans will go to the literal ends of the #flatearth to defend replacement level players and incessantly belittle those who disagree. - Mordecai
There's a huge difference between rational analysis of a player such as giving a player credit for standing up to bigger and tougher players and for standing up for his teammates and really foolish criticism because the player doesn't win the fight. There is also the foolishness of stating that Manning sucks at hockey but that's another story.
Manning, a so called replacement level player beat out Travis Sanheim for playing time in the eyes of an NHL coaching staff. Some fans can't handle that reality or handle anyone who posts that reality. |
