Gotta be Nash.

TSN did say that Grabner would be the first to go...

But this is Grabner. 32 year old bottom 6 rental forward who could barely make a lineup before comingto NY. Probably the best we were offered if trading with NJ
- nyrangers2

Nope...everyone here is right. Gorton said no to better offers!!!!????

..Gorton was offered a 2nd and a prospect by EVERYONE making offers! Obviously, he thought this was best prospect he was going to get!

I guess you think he should of used his Jedi mind tricks!!!!??

Yeah anywhere but Pitt lol don't wanna help that pos franchise in anyway pretty sure they don't have cap space but im sure Bettman would find a way to make an exception.

General consensus that he’ll bring back a similar return, subbing the 2nd for a 1st? Eat some sal?

Real rebuild= more certainty in prospects

Half assed rebuild= more uncertainty

Look at the half assed prospects we got for the '04 sell off, Jarkko Immonen and Josef Balej.....this is what worried me, this is why I'm flipping out cause it's just never gonna be a home run again with this organization

- KreiderBomb
. Grabs wasn’t gonna give them the homerun, that’s the point. If Mac and or Nash don’t bring it, it’s hunting season on Gorton

I hear you. I think that Homerun would have to come with Mcd type of player. Grabner is good, but besides these two years and early islander years he was not great. Hopefully that second becomes a solid player

Idk. But it's already been confirmed that he's not playing tomorrow in order to speed up the trade process.

The Rangers have drafted guys like Dubinsky and Stephan in the second round. So that’s good. But the other list is much longer, meaning the second round picks that don’t do much.

There is generally around a 30-35% success rates of second round picks — guys that have solid careers

Rangers this week

Lost:

Holden
Grabner (can be resigned if they want him)

Gained:
2nd Rd Pick
3rd Rd Pick
Rob O'Gara
Yegor Rykov

To Come:

Picks / Prospects for Nash
Picks / Prospects for McD

They can walk away with 7,8, or 9 picks in the first 3 rounds of the upcoming draft (They now have 5)

Let’s face facts, the rebuild centers around Nash and Mac, and them two only. Grabner and Holden aren’t the keys to it. Maybe Zucc also, but seems unlikely as he played tonight

More than we got for Gragner, hopefully. But I think we're gonna be disappointed in the return.

The hype I'm reading about Rykov doesn't really excite me because of Bereglazov, heard much of the same about that kid and he turned out to be doodoo

You can also say the more picks you accumulate the higher you can move up, say from like 8,9 to 5 if need be. If you love a player there

2018 Draft, so far:

1st
2 2nds
2 3rds
4th
5th
6th

Get the job done, scouts.

Added D prospect makes you wonder what management thinks about the current talent pool. I wonder if his style of play balances all of the flashy d prospects we have now.

But it's making the right picks you can have all the picks in the world if they're the wrong ones don't help you and the Rangers have had a ton of wrong ones.

Right so how can anyone judge? Everyone said they wanted picks, they are getting them, McD and NAsh will bring 2 or 3 more most likely inside the 3rd round.
