Not sure why, or even how, you still try, Jan. God bless you for it.
On the issue of Marner vs. Nylander,
I see WAAAYY more of the Leafs games than I would like to, since they get shoved down the throat of the hockey watching masses in Ontario. And I can tell you unequivocally that Nylander is the prize we want. Marner is flashier, but makes a lot of risky plays. Nylander could grow into that #1C we are looking for. And if, somehow, we land Tavares this July, we would go from dearth to depth in a heartbeat. I've been quietly calling for Mac for Nylander for a while and am still hopeful given what we've been hearing lately. - Tonybere
Will heed your view. Spoke to some in Buffalo who attends Toronto games and he thought Marner was the better prize. I would prefer him but happy to be wrong and ‘settle’ for Nylander. But when I proposed that on twitter yesterday, Leads fans were ripping McD and most not viewing him a true top pair or true second pair. |

I would not mind either to be honest. I appreciate McDonagh but I feel like through no fault of his own he has reached his expiration point here as well. He was setup to fail in a sense. A change of scenery for him might be a huge boost and if it was a good hockey trade for bother clubs involved it is a win-win. |

Yeah, they are both really good. But, for me it Nylander. He almost quietly always makes the right play. He's got a good defensive game for such a young, offensive talent.
Marner makes you come out of your seat with his skating and puck-handling, but can be caught trying to do too much.
I would take either as well, but I want Nylander!! |

In Dundee's defense, I did not know that Pete practiced pretzel law...so that was pretty eye-opening info. |

I had added on to the end of that "Pete is like a modern day Charlie Kelly" and then deleted it for some reason. |

McD is easily a better defender than anyone on Toronto's roster. And a better puck mover than all but Gardiner and Riley. He is basically just what the doctor ordered for that team, but I understand Leaf fans not recognizing what you need for the playoffs. |
