not necessarily, Cally had put up decent points up until that trade...
2014: 25pts in 45 games
2013: 31pts in 45 games
2012: 54 pts in 76 games
Point and Sergachev are no guarantee to be superstars - Liamano
that's why they should trade both to the Rangers for McDonagh so they dont have to worry about them anymore |

The NHL network should do a show following around two GMs during trade deadline time -- a buyer GM and seller GM. Obviously to be aired after the deadline. I think that would be real interesting.

I don't see why he's valued so low though. Any other 30 goal scorer that can kill penalties and play all over the lineup would be a 1st+ no questions asked - nyrangers9479
half his goals are EN and he's got stone hands ffs |

Callahan was an injury prone third liner that could play decent hockey and was a pending UFA. Point has 52pts through 60GP in his second year in the league. He's already way better than Callahan ever was and he's 21 years old, cheap, and has no glaring injury issues.
Sergachev is raw and obviously carries risk, but I would bet a whole lot of money Yzerman isn't moving a cost-controlled young defenseman with a very high ceiling.
The value of penidng-UFA Ryan Callahan and those two young players aren't even in the same universe. |

That's a great deal, given his last two seasons. He would have easily gotten over $6M+ on the open market. He took a discount to stay here. Staple even pointed out as much.

Very manageable term and $... Sounds like Bailey wants the security and to stick around. #Isles wouldn't have moved on this deal now otherwise. |
