This is the most reasonable package I've seen. It would still need to exchange Draisaitl for RNH, which would be necessary for the Oilers to fit for Cap reasons, but also the asset, Ottawa would most covet in a deal like this.

Exactly. Even without the Ryan contract that is the worst trade in NHL history. Dorion automatically gets GM Of the year if he pulls that off. Ottawa will immediately become a MUCH better team and be way better in the future.

The only reason I don't like Chia is because a 2x Stanley Cup caliber (pretty soon 3) Champion like myself is worth way more than Tyler Seguin and Dougie Hamilton. Just sayin'

Yeah, taking Ryans contract is worth like a 1st and a prospect. I dont think that deal is that much off, remove this years first & Ryan, and the value seems reasonable (If Oilers pick is around 15% to be 1st overall thats really valueable).

Dahlin alone is close to EKs value. Cost-controlled huge talent that could be as good as Karlsson is money for Melnyk.

This seems like a unnessecary debate to have right now. Edmonton dont want to get better this year. If they get Dahlin, they dont need EK. Any conversation with the Sens right now would start with their first, and I dont think they are willing to let that go before the lottery.
