Odd story developing in Ott. Back in January, when times were really awful for the Sens, there was a team meeting in the locker room after a game, and Dorion came in to talk to the team. Dion apparently not only didn't turn the music down/off, but turned it up. Dorion has felt disrespected by some of the players (Dion) and has the full support of Melnyk to change the "culture" of the dressing room. The Karlsson rumors apparently stem from him voicing his displeasure with management not spending the money he thinks the team deserves, and driving players like Alfredsson and Turris out of town.

Respectfully due a various level of circumstances I can't see it that way. The criminal element is protected so much now it very tough to decipher the issues and break them down. For someone trespassing on my property with malicious intent whether to steal or harm others, they need to be aware of the consequences involved of such actions. That, to me is the mentality issue as well. They believe they can get away with anything without any repercussions to themselves or the surroundings they affect. I see it everyday working between two high schools and dealing with the self-entitled drug dealing kids almost on a weekly basis. They feel they are untouchable and just chalk full of self-entitlement. This also leads in to the current arrogance of the up and coming criminal element IMO.

Now would I go into my garage guns ablazing if I caught someone in there? Of course not. I have the ability to decipher varying circumstances but like you said the moment it becomes a life/death issue it changes everything.

And a quick comment on your 'arrest gone wrong' situations. My father was RCMP for over 30 years and treated people very well and was respected for it. Not sure where we got lost along the way with many cops today having God complexes and itchy trigger fingers. But in their defense in 99.9 percent of most cases (and I saw this many times with ride-alongs with my Dad), if the people being arrested just did what the officer asked them to do all would be fine. But again...people are self entitled more than ever now and they have issues that go well beyond just simply Cops trying to arrest them...to be fair.

Not going to/can't disagree with you on a lot of things you bring up – this issue is much more nuanced and bridges across multiple areas (psychology, sociology, cultural acceptances, etc.) than the initial US school shootings we originated from.

The entitlement aspect is interesting as that opens up a giant can of worms: parenting, culture, criminal justice system, alternative justice... though I would say criminals throughout history have had to be pretty arrogant

And yes, I think it's the bad ones who are mostly giving police officers a bad name – and somewhere along the line it was cool to hate cops? But there is also a huge difference between police in the US and Canada: from cultural persuasion (as with the school shootings), to their weaponry (basically a small military now), to the history of racism and Jim Crow laws and bigotry that still holds over now, to actually just their training in a lot of deescalation is to draw a gun.

He seemed to have good connections within the team, some good rumors, breaking stories etc. He has never had a good opinion of Melnyk, to the point where “Russian hackers” (apparently Melnyk has some unsavory ties to the motherland) broke into Yosts computer and corrupted files etc.
