I'm suggesting, taking a scan of the records of the two NHL teams he's played for, that the statement Gudbranson does anything to help his team win, is wayward.

If that's the case, he's successful about 40% of the time.

Records schmecords we’re not talking about face off percentages. I’ll take a big strong D in the playoffs every time.

Zaitsev is not very good in his own zone though. I would rather Dermott and a pick for Tanev. Also, no more including picks in deals!!!!!

- Codes1087

agreed. not sure why you guys would take Z...but the 2nd is realistic for benning.

dermott. no thanks to moving him.

with tanev injured, seems like the draft is the time to make a deal, if at all. The Leafs might as well see who is available at 31 before trading the pick to you guys.

I heard that about you.

Just kidding.

Gudbranson isn't helping anyone, sorry. If you want a big strong dman, pick up Polak. Cheap as chips. He's not good at hockeying either

Bob McKenzie: Don’t believe the Canucks were that proactive in moving defenseman Chris Tanev before his injury that will keep him out for three to four weeks. A trade could be revisited at the draft.

What you fail to recognize are all the little things he does to help his team win. There is more to a playoff game then goals and assists.

And if necessary, you could also pretend he's Swedish.

I just want you guys to trade him so we don't have to go over this for the next 4 months.

When the Canucks and Leafs do finally consummate a trade it is going to be epic, like that time Ross finally nailed Rachel.

I'd imagine both teams lose that deal somehow.

Well Darious does think Tanev is crap because he doesn't score so I can see why he thinks his value is so low.

Personally I'd like to see Edler moved for Foote and a 3rd/4th.

Vanek for a 2nd if you can from a playoff team, if the offers are too low hang on to him and resign for 1 more year.

Other than that I think the canucks should probably hold off until the draft.

Except the Leafs lost Rask for Raycroft. What was Ferguson thinking.......

This is exactly what I would say about this deal. Zaitsev doesn't solve any of our issues.

Stevie Y values Foote very highly. It would take a stud for them to trade him. Not Edler. Vanek for a 3rd to anybody and Edler (if he will waive) to Tampa for a 2nd and a B level D prospect. Sorry I expect a low return and I lack creativity

Vanek to Ducks for cond 4th. If they make it to the WCF it becomes a 3rd.
Tanev to TO for 2018 1st, 2018 2nd, Eemeli Rasanen
Edler to TBL for Foote + cond 4th, becomes a 2nd if they win the cup
Hutton + Goldy + 2019 4th for Domi + cond 2019 5th, if our 4th is within 10 picks of the 5th it becomes a 6th

Yes, got it, we were talking terrible net minders in Vancouver. Joking about Lu, obviously, serious about Burke (obviously). But the Canucks have had plenty of terrible goalies since Potvin, much worse than eithe Markstrom or Nielson

I’m not sure why we two fan bases are so at odds, we’re like Minas Morgul and Isengard, we should be cooperating to rule.
- 1970vintage

2 reasons for me...
- Leaf fans talking of cups won in the stone age.
- original expansion both Hogtown & Habville not allowing Vancouver in. When is the next vote for Cascadia? 😂😂

Edler has pretty decent value right now with how he's played. I'd be okay with trading him for Foote straight up worst case. I don't know if Tampa will have an iron grip on Foote considering they're the cup favourites and they already have Sergachev

I would only do Vanek for a 3rd if its in the top half of that round, and i dont think those teams want him. He's played well and seems like he would be interested in resigning so I don't mind keeping him around especially if the twins retire this year
