Canucks dont have cap space to take another $7m contract this year, would have to be a summer deal. Picks would depend on the prospects received, but I imagine if taking Ryan helps TB get Karlsson, and helps OTT unload that contract, everything would have to be of high value.

As to why, it would be a way to gain picks/prospects while still having top assets like Tanev available for other deals
