Far from easier when its a constitutional right and there's enough armed civilians with former military training and organizing in state militias to over throw a number of states in the south west and mid west.

Keep in mind it would take martial law to confiscate military weapons from civilians in the USA. The number of constitutional rights that would have to be ignored is too much to take by force from civilians. Martial law turns an off switch for civil rights and that would be met with armed push back. Double Jeopardy.
