I stand by my comment when I say bloggers. I could care less what other posters think about the Canucks. I don't think I have read another bloggers article, without it being a complete dig at the Canucks organization when mentioned. - Codes1087
Can you blame them? The organization isn’t exactly a shining beacon of excellence lately and we Canuck fans are among the most self deprecating of any team, in any sport, world wide. |

NYR - 2 points out of wildcard spot. Throws out memo to fans/NHL that they are open for business. Nash / Grabner / McDonaugh all forced to give their 10 team list.
Canucks - 28/29th in the league. Throws out memo that injuries have played a major part in their poor season. Re-signs Gudbranson.
Few days left until TDL, but you cant help but be a bit envious at the willingness of teams to fully commit to rebuilding, and teams that make excuses and continue trying to be "competitive"

See, you answered your own question on why people "dislike/despise" the team these days

NYR will pass Vancouver in their rebuild by the draft.
I wouldn't be surprised if they get a 1st for both grabner and nash. |

The more I think about it, the more sense it makes. The only way this team is going to get any better is to trade Horvat this deadline. Tanev before the draft. They need MANY more high caliber prospects closer to the same age so that as players begin to peak they have enough quality to compete for the cup, and Horvat will already be declining when that happens. If they could land a high caliber C prospect, D prospect and a pick in this year’s draft for Horvat, and a top D prospect and a pick for Tanev they would be set up nicely 4-5 years down the road. |

For sure,
Funny how EDM, MTL, OTT (all 59 pts) are quietly positioning themselves for the lottery.
We're looking (60 pts) for a hockey trade to win some games! |

saw a crazy stat posted yesterday because people were comparing the Bruins "re-tool" vs Canucks "re-tool" since 2011. Bruins have had 17 picks in the first 2 rounds of the draft. Canucks have had 12. Since 2008 they have had 23, we have had 16. |

And of those I bet their percentage of players to play in NHL as regulars is higher. |

I'd be surprised if he makes it to the draft to be honest. That ownership has to be looking hard at the the hell has gone on there the last 3 years. |

Gudbranson - 3 years

For a rebuilding team, this confuses me. If a 26 year old D, who's had his fair share of struggles, was available at the cost of a 2nd and 4th, Vancouver would have never been interested.
Not to mention, the 3ish years of development could produce another ELC player off those picks, in a time where Bo/Boeser are entering their prime. I am convinced the Canucks shortsightedness will create the Oilers, barring some great drafting/development. Oilers wasted the Drai/McJesus ELC's, and now that they need good young players on ELCs they dont have those either |

100%. More draft picks will always up your odds of getting an NHL player. More draft picks in the first two rounds, obviously your odds dramatically increase.
