I'd do Tatar for Sprong... not for Kane... - hipcheck_goalie
Yes please. |

4 days away now. Only credibly linked names to the Pens have been Brassard, Grabner, and Cullen. Kane and Pacioretty were mentioned a while ago but not so much recently.
In past years, GMJR has pulled some names out of left field. Let's take guesses on possibilities completely out of left field...
here's my three:
Sam Gagner
Derek Grant
Ryan Dzingel |

Gagner for Hunwick makes sense...
I think: 1. Tatar 2. Derek Mackenzie 3. Sedin twins. Lol

Absolutely. As we're talking about trading our best prospects and picks, I hope that opens up the field of vision to other options. What about AA? It seems there's some animosity between the player and team now. |

I don't really have an interest in trading Sprong for AA. I'd rather stick with our young, cheap flawed player, than trade for their, slightly older, slightly less cheap flawed player. |

I don't want to trade Sprong at all......but the rumors are flying that he's available. I just don't want to lose him for a player that we won't have for more than a year or possibly less. |

They need to get another center, at least as good as Sheahan. If you have Sheary or Simon on the fourth line, you want a center with hands, not grit.
Then you can roll Kuhnhacle Rowney Reaves when you want to beat people up, or Simon ??? Sheary when you want to win (or whatever wingers are getting pushed down the lineup). |

I’d do Sheary for AA and no, that’s not Sheary-hate. I just like AA and would prefer him. |

It's not close to that point yet. Sprong is only 20. He hasn't even played a full season in the AHL yet. |

I'll provide some Sheary hate.... Yohe on Madden today saying precisely what I've been saying for months. He's having a pretty brutal season. I don't see him being a significant part of any trade. His value can not be high. Take away his October production and he's got 7 goals in the last 4 months.....while playing a ton on Crosby's line. GM's have to be thinking what his production would be like playing with a lesser center. |

Just get Brassard. That’s all the Pens need.

I wouldn't mind us getting Brassard, but if not him I hope we land Plekanec. I think Plekanec could be a good veteran fill in and leader for us throughout the playoffs much like Cullen was on our lower lines. I am still hoping we land Kane or Grabner though. I think the added speed will help us in the playoffs |

He's a pending UFA who won't cost the Pens $6M and I'm sure they expect, no matter who he's dealt to, that they will have to retain some salary. |

Agreed reports are that the Canadians would retain salary most reports are that they would retain 50% if he came to Pittsburgh. |

Why not? I know he's a bit slow, but if he's able to keep up with McDavid I'd think he could handle the speed of Sid or Geno. |
