I agree I don't think they start the year with Rowney as the 4C. But that isn't an expensive fix.

Yea easy find for sure, but let's not get ahead of ourselves lol

I wouldn't be surprised after seeing the LA Coyote trade the Pens go after Domi and get Domi for cheap.
- 123Kid

Yea they just crushed them in that trade. Like someone said before Tie and Mario are good friends so it could be a possibility.

I know it's a stretch but the Sedin twins haven't won a Cup... that would solve C and LW. Lol..

They could basically have their own line either 3rd or 4th & be very dangerous. I brought them up a few weeks back but I think I had 2 responses in the negative!

To get them on the Pens. I think I said I wasn't sure what they'd were going to do next year, but I feel if they played they could fill a hole. I may have even said trade for the C (Daniel is it?), this season - can't remember. Wonder what they would cost? Nucks could do them a favour to try & win a Cup.

Henrik is the center, I doubt they would leave each other though my guess is they both stay put unless a team offers to take both but that's a huge salary to take on even at half retained for contending teams.

50/50 chance & I (frank)ed it!

Yes I get what you are saying but if 1 had a chance for a Cup, the other may say just do it. Who knows, they may not Bev able to play in different teams. Henrik would be a good asset on our bottom 6 though.

Would be unreal go get the Sedins. I could see them being a good 3rd line with a gritty guy like Hornqvist or a speedster with some finish like Rust. It probably wouldn’t cost as much as you’d think. I don’t think it would take a 1st and Sprong. Probably more like the Sedins for Rowney, Hunwick, Reaves, 2018 1st, 2019 3rd. Would be great insurance in case current roster players got hurt. Unfortunately, I don’t think this salary exchange works out
Personally, unless we hit a homerun like this that makes us favorites, I’d rather just grab a 4C and let the kids play. It’s too bad we didn’t get to see if Blueger could hold his own. That would be valuable information

I'm a huge fan of the Sedins(their career, slowin down today), but their style and speed do not match the Penguins. I would be all for getting Henrik but I think having the two of them would significantly bog down the team.

What?! lol noooo, don't trade for them this season, just go after them in the off season as free agents.

I'd rather the Pens sign Bozak and keep all their current wingers aside from Kuhn and Reaves in the off-season than get the Sedin twins. The only possible difference would be a replacement for Hornqvist if the Pens don't re-sign.

The Metro finally catches up tonight. The Rangers, Devils, Flyers, Jackets and Caps will all have played the same amount of games as the Pens after tonight, so we will get a much better snapshot of where things are.

Just hoping the Flyers and Caps lose. I'm sure we're all really hoping for home ice.

EDIT:
Interesting side note, at least to me, the Panthers are surging and could sneak in the playoffs at the rate their playing. Probably not likely, but they could wind up being a surprise playoff team.

Pouliot is a good player. For somereason he is ALWAYS in Housley's doghouse. He gets almost no PP time, and he's often on the 4th line. They put Girgensons with Eichel for a while without giving Pouliot a sniff there.

He would be a good acquisition. Cheap, surprisingly fast, big and can lay a big hit.

I would target him instead of E. Kane if i were a GM. The price will be lower

As much as I've been a Pens fan most of my life, I've been a Canucks fan my entire life. I highly doubt the Sedins go anywhere else in the NHL other than Vancouver. They do so much in the community there, their families are 100% committed to staying there. They're the kinds of guys who would take huge pay cuts to return to Vancouver which the city would love because ticket sales struggle there, that's why Benning doesn't sell off as much as some would like him to.
"You need to give to get." If guys like Hanzal and Vermette gets 1sts at the deadline, why not the Sedins? My proposal also dumps off Hunwick (not just this year but for future years) and getting both of them really makes Rowney and Reaves expendable anyways. We would need to sweeten the deal for them retaining 50% salary and taking Hunwick back the other way. I don't see a 1st this year and a 3rd next year as too much, especially when we're consistently either winning the cup or becoming favorites - we'll just continue to attract college guys like Sheary and ZAR. Henrik would also be huge insurance should a center go down. We would also have maybe the best PP2 unit in the league with both sedins, Guentzel, Letang, and Sheary

I just don't think the Pens NEED to go after the Sedins this year and trade assets. I think they would cost a little more than what you're offering. I think having the best PP2 in the league as negligible because the Pens PP1 plays 85-90% of the PP. I'd love the Sedins on Pittsburgh, but I don't think trading for them is the right move. I do think gunning for them in FA is though.

If that’s the price for the Sedins I’d rather use sprong and the 1st for Ovechkin at half retained

So... does Schultz, Sprong & a 1st bring back Erik Karlson? If that was enough would you do it?

A year and a half of EK and then bank on Oleksiak growing into our second pairing 2RD? Yeah, I'm (frank)ing in.

Per Mackey line rushes:

Simon-Crosby-Rust
Hagelin-Malkin-Hornqvist
Guentzel-Sheahan-Kessel
Aston-Reese-Rowney-Sheary (Reaves rotating)

Dumoulin-Letang
Maatta-Schultz
Cole-Oleksiak
Hunwick-Ruhwedel

This is pretty, pretty good. A C would seriously make this lineup perfect.

ZAR to the 4th line? I like Rust but he and Sid don't seem to mesh well.
