4C

Agree on Pouliot.

Kane, however, I do think would make a big difference. With the way we are balancing out 4 lines right now, I don't think Sid has good enough wingers. Kane and a 4C would be great.

Yeah it depends on the cost. It doesn't sound like they're getting what they want for him. Like Simon, but pitting Kane in that spot instead of him makes Crosby's line much more dangerous. If Botts is interested in say Sheary, a 2nd and Kuhnhackl I'd probably do that.

For whatever reason, dating back to last season, the majority of deals GMJR has done were completed on a Friday. Here's to hoping for some excitement today (though game day can throw a wrench into that)

Something is in the air today...something big is going down...

I was thinking about that too...but then I thought about how they have a back to back starting tonight and might not do anything until Sunday...or Monday

Kane and Cullen? I'm fine with that. Even though they could probably do better at center, the addition of Kane would more than make up for it and they would have to give up close to nothing to get Cullen back. If the right salary leaves the other way (Sheary, Hunwick), they could hopefully afford to resign him after this season.

It's a shame Blueger didn't get a look just to see if he's be a 4C option even if just as an injury replacement. Look at how much better our wing depth looks just from giving ZAR that chance.

While he might be good too, I would rather have a veteran who could win draws on a consistent basis.

A couple of those games, Rowney could barely skate. I forget the exact stat, but he was on the ice for something like 5 goals in 3 games while getting like 5mins a game. I wish they would have taken a look at Bleuger while they had a chance too.

Guys, its always a possibility that all deals GMJR has been trying will fall through. If that happens, I still think they are in very good shape...

This is part of why I'm glad there's no NHLers in the Olympics. I love that it's amateurs and you can't predict what will happen.

I hope Germany can take out the Russians who don't do drugs team, that'd be great.

So the rumor I saw with Grabner was the Pens wanted their center first in case they needed the assets. So they didn't plan to get him until the deadline. They seem to be monitoring Brassard, Plekanec, and Cullen to see what happens.

This makes sense and I'm glad JR is properly prioritizing. There's no reason a winger should be a priority. Get their 3C or 4C first and then go for the luxuries.

I haven't watched a single game, I give zero (frank)s about that tournament because it's not the best in the world.

Yeah that's what Dreger just tweeted out a few seconds ago but that kinda puts to bed the whole "Will the Rags help a division rival?"

Yes because they're losing, and they're looking for the best deal possible regardless of who it's from lol why do they give a (frank) who goes where?

I hope so too but I dont know, tough task. Datsyuk and Kovalchuck on top line among many other very strong KHL'ers.

Winning gold would be amazing no matter the factors around it, but will Dats and Kov think about how lesser their competition was this year at all if they win gold?

He's not a veteran, but that's exactly the type of player Blueger is. He was drafted for skill but developed into a guy who wins draws, kills penalties, etc. I'd have liked to see what we had in him not just for now, but looking towards the off-season.

The time zone difference is the reason I have only seen one period of the tournament and that was OAOR vs Slovakia while I was getting ready for work...but yeah, if the NHL'ers were there Id be finding ways to view it all haha.

Dreger:

Pens were in on Grabner. I suspect Rutherford was reluctant based on probability some of the assets needed could be used in Brassard talk.

It's fair to assume Derek Brassard may have played his last game with the Senators. Seems unlikely, if not traded today, he plays tomorrow.

I actually think the Pens get him. Don't think anyone else is pushing near as hard for a center.

There's been so much build about this, especially around here with you guys, that I feel Im gonna be let down and someone in the west is gonna snag him.

What move would you guys prefer in a deal for Brassard?

1st + Sheary

2nd + Sheary + Sprong

I don't know much, but I feel the deal would look something like one of those.
