Brassard
Grabner and Plekanec
Kane and Plekanec
I think any of these three deals would make Pitt pretty unbeatable, the third one with Kane there being least desirable as I'm just not sure we need him, nor do I wanna lose Sprong for him. Would be happy with either of the top two. |

Well the report that we're back in on Kane comes from the idea that Bots isn't getting firsts. So theoretically, all we'd have to do to win the bidding war is offer our 1st. Plekanec shouldn't cost significant assets, so I think we come away from that scenario keeping Sprong, which is ideal. |

Why not? I know he's a bit slow, but if he's able to keep up with McDavid I'd think he could handle the speed of Sid or Geno. - Rinosaur
He's always struck me as a pigeon and he's the exact type of #gritness player that gets an overpayment at the deadline. I don't want to expend significant assets on Maroon. I think I might like him more than Grabner though. I don't know, I'm not super into either of those trades unless we send Sheary out for Brassard. |

2nd + Hunwick for Kane
Kuhnhackl + 4th for Plekanec
Now THAT is ideal |

Would you trade a 1st+prospect and a 2nd for Kane and Plekanec respectively?
edit: I'm really only interested in dropping the 1st rounder for Brassard as we would get him for 2 playoff runs |

I don't know. In a bubble, that's a great deal for Kane, but I just don't know if the expended 1st is worth it given our depth at wing. If we were to get Brassard, though, which would definitely involve Sheary, I'd definitely do it.
A 2nd for Plekanec I'd definitely do though.
If we could get Kane and Brassard and our net losses were a 1st, a 2nd, Sheary, a prospect not named Sprong (Jordy B. comes to mind), and a lesser prospect, I'd probably cream my pants. Hunwick would have to be dumped somehow for this work cap wise, and I just don't know how to do that. |

A bottom 6 veteran leader who makes $6M. No thank you. - YouMeAndDupuis9
Plek? He would be an awesome pickup for the Pens, he would probably come cheaper than Brassard, MTL would eat salary, I personally think Plekanec is the best choice given cost to acquire. I don't think he should cost anything more than a 2nd-4th round pick or 2. |

So capfriendly has our deadline space at 1.77 I guess that's pretty accurate? |

Grabner to the Devils - Thorny
For a 2nd and a prospect. Glad we didn't pay that. Would have been livid if we sent out Sprong for Grabner. |

My gut tells me the following...
The Pens will acquire Pouliot and Plekanec |

I hope your gut is correct because I don't think we lose Sprong or our 1st for those players. |

I'd be perfectly fine with it.
Plekanec is an effective player. I don't know who'd be 3C or 4C, but it would be a nice problem to have. |

If we keep all of our roster players as is, I really hope we don't spend that much on Pouliot. |

If Pouliot cost more than a 3rd I'd be shocked and I think he can be had for less. |
