I honestly can't believe more people don't see this. Making that trade could end up sinking your team for 9 years if you double down and re-sign him.

Does anyone believe he will be anywhere near his peak, even 2 years from now. Hell, we have no evidence he can even be the same guy again.

Besides all of that... do we want a dman who plays like a 4th forward. Think about how Gardiner looks out there. Imagine more of that, at least once or twice a game. It would be brutal.

Next thing you know, your uninjured side starts hurting, because of the extra work it's going through. And that's just walking around. Imagine having your bones rebuilt, and then constantly exercising it, and putting more and more stress, and the occasional piece of frozen rubber smashing into that spot.

He may get better, but his career is now in a downwards trajectory, even though he should be in his prime years.

Agree. Karlsson has been an incredible talent for 10 years, but the injuries are taking their toll. His next contract at 12M will be an anchor.
