fixed...
If any deal for Karlsson, has to include Bobby Ryan like TSN is reporting, then pass...4 more years at $7.25M for Bobby Ryan won't help any team. - PatC80
Ryan Island sounds so much less appealing than Robidas or Lupul Island.

41 points in 53 games. he's not that far off his usual pace.
i think the sens are just garbage and have hit rock bottom. kinda like kessel's last year here. that last year was just a slight down year that he recovered from. karrlson should do the same. - Tumbleweed
My fear isn't that Karlsson stays at his current level.
My fear is that he's going to keep deteriorating.
Rebuilt left achilles tendon.
Rebuilt right ankle, which is at risk of being rebroken any time:
"They took half of my ankle bone out and the part that is still there should be as normal possible,” Karlsson revealed.
The Sens defenceman – who finished second in the NHL with 201 blocked shots last season – was asked if taking a puck to the ankle could cause further damage.
“If you get a shot there, there’s always a risk of you breaking it – whether it’s the same ankle or something else,” he said. “But it’s not something I’m worried about. Hopefully I can block a little bit different.”

Marleau has pretty much stated he does not want to play centre anymore.
I wonder what Ottawa would let Brassard go for if hes still available 10 minutes before the deadline. He and Bozak would be a respectable 3 and 4C. - BetterCallSaul
Brassard would be nice too,
I would offer Leivo, a 2nd rd pick in 2018 and a 4th rd pick in 2019.

My big fear is that once you start breaking down, your body compensates, which can cause further problems.
Ottawa won't give any type of discount due to his injury history.
For those reasons, I don't think it's worth the risk.

we don't have the assets to risk going all in for him right now. if he seems healthy next year and makes it to ufa, might be worth it. but no rush for us to do anything.
caps should risk it. nothing to lose with that aging core that looks like it'll come up short again.
karlson and burrows for burakovsky, 2 1sts, johansen and orprik
People.
Marleau doesnt want to play center.
Leave kap on the 4th line for now. That would gives us 4 lines with legit scoring threats on them.
The 4th line above would be a complete void....except maybe bozak.

caps can burn it down in 2 years anyways. - Tumbleweed
I'm suggesting someone better than Glenny too. Will cost us more for sure. And please don't suggest the Goat. Believe his time has passed. Oh well off season most likely. Can sign one without losing anyone of value.

the only centers better than Glendening are John Tavares and every center on the Vancouver Canucks.. We might be able to get Johnny T, but there is no way we can afford any center from Vancouver..
