I just can't get into TV series any more. Too much of a time commitment. As good as they seem to be, they do end up diluted as they're trying to milk the binger market.

I kind of wish they did more mini-series: would tighten up the content, but give you a bit more than a single movie... which I find harder and harder to find one worthy of watching if you're not into superhero poop, and I'm so over that.

It was like the zombie craze a few years ago...

Because I'm super bored right now, I've ranked the tradebait/rental market in order of interest for TO.

Tavares: Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin; nuff said. Read Mirtle's article and it might just work, cap-wise. We'd probably have to let Gardiner walk, so we'd have to hope that Liljegren can slot in full-time by 2019-20, or Marleau gets moved/retires.

McDonagh: that would really shore up our top 4 and wouldn't hurt us when the kids get paid. This would give us a more rounded lineup, but we'd still be a bit weak up the middle, certainly not a juggernaut team, and I don't think adding McDonagh makes us a D powerhouse like NAS or anything, just better than we were.

...

Mike Green: RHD, PP help, which hasn't looked awesome for a while now.
Letestu: center depth, bit better than Glenny possession-wise, cheaper, pure rental.

I'm still a little surprised the Rangers would consider trading McDonagh.

The guy is a first pairing defenseman, no doubt about it, and signed for a pretty good deal at 4.7M per season with one more season left.

I get they want to start rebuilding.... but unless the package is too tempting to say no, I'd keep my first pairing 28 year old guy and extend him.

Any team grabbing McDonagh will be pleased that's for sure.

2017-18 marks Tanev’s eighth season in the NHL. Not once, in any of his prior seven seasons, has he played more than 70 games.

To say that Tanev is injury prone would be an understatement. In fact, as I’m writing this, news just broke of him being sidelined for the next three to four weeks with a fractured leg. And that’s not even the first injury he’s suffered this year.

Tanev is a phenomenal player, there’s no doubting that. He’s a legitimate top-four defenseman with a cap hit of just $4.5 million. Paying someone of Tanev’s calibre anything under $6 million is a win, no matter how you look at it.

The sticking point, however, is that included in any package for Tanev’s service is also the extensive mileage his body has endured.

Since 2014, he’s been placed on the injured reserve a whopping nine(!) times, not including any additional games he’s missed for other various ailments.

The Bruins did something similar in keeping Bergeron, Krejci, Chara, and Rask. Retool for a few years and keep your stars. It's not always going to work, but I do think what Boston did is a good blueprint.

I think the Bruins had more solid pieces (you left out Marchand.... I'm guessing it was for me.... thanks bruh) for a retool than the Rangers do at the moment.

They also had a few solid pickups via the draft that, imo, changed everything in McAvoy, Carlo, Pastrnak and, to a lesser extent, Debrusk.

Still, if you can't get a whole lot for a guy like McDonagh, you keep him, build around him.... if anything he'll help the young guys.

Or maybe because Nashville plays a style of hockey that works well in the playoffs, which is the polar opposite of the way the Leafs play.

I didn't bother to count as I figured you had this in the bag.

GUESS I WAS WRONG.

How does Tavares score an EN then?

- Scabeh

Tavares has the puck and dumps the puck in to the zone for a line change.

As he's skating to the bench, he punches Komarov in the face, because Komarov just swore at him in five different languages.

Delayed call for roughing.

Gardiner picks up the puck behind the net and waits for the play to set up. Andersen skates to the bench, Leafs put an extra attacker on the ice.

Gardiner starts skating up the ice. The Islanders send in a lone forechecker - they don't want to put more than one guy in the far zone, as they are now shorthanded.

Gardiner skates to the top of the faceoff circles, sees the lone forechecker and panics. He spins and tries to fire a puck back to Polak, but Polak can't get to the puck in time, because...well...Polak is Polak.

The puck slides into the Leafs' net. Shutout ruined. Tavares last Islander to touch the puck, so he gets credit for the goal - an empty netter.

Gardiner skates to the bench with a dumbfounded look on his face. Andersen screams at him, starting a rift in the dressing room not seen since the days of Shane Corson.

Lou trades Gardiner for Doughty 27 minutes after the final buzzer.

Pretty simple.

I just met at the time when we started he wasn't quite the caliber of player has turned into in say the last 2-3 years. What did we really trade? Lucic and Hamilton? I'm pretty sure that was all we moved to get a lot of the draft picks and pieces we used along with out own. The Kings were just stupid for wanting Lucic (turned into Zboril and Trent Frederick, I believe as Miller just walked and we traded Martin Jones for a Sharks 1st which we used on Frederick), our own pick was Debrusk, and the Flames pick for Hamilton was Zboril, Jermey Lauzon and Jackob Forsbacka-Karlsson, if I'm not mistaken. So realistically we have one player of all those picks on our current roster, which was drafted using the Bruins' own pick.

I guess the only other on you could argue would be Carlo as he was pick we got for Boychuck. That was Chiarelli trade though before we started the retool so does that really count?

Kind of crazty, but nothing of note on our roster was from those trades. They're still developing. Barzal, Boeser, Connor yeah yeah, obligatory mention. Whatever.

Like Wedgie, I realized after the fact I spelled crazy wrong, but I like it.

No....not a playoff game, it would be just a meaningless reg season game at the end of the season.

Chiarelli waaay before the retool and nothing came of that trade for us. Eriksson should've been traded at the deadline in 2015 when we were a bubble team after winning the presidents trophy in 2014. After they missed the playoffs was when they started shipping pieces out (Lucic, Hamilton).

Seguin was traded on July 4th, 2013 if I'm not mistaken?
