This same team, with less experience, without Marleau, and Hainsey, with a not-as-good Anderson, and very likely without as good a season behind them took the Presidents trophy winners to 6 games with 5 OT games.
So a better team this year, beating anyone is not a massive upset. Upset? yeah, maybe. - Aetherial
Washington doesn't exactly play the same way the Bruins do. And Holtby played like poop in the playoffs last year which is unlike him. Unless Rask poops the bed in a similar fashion, it's going to be very hard to get past them hoping Andersen stands on his Richard every game. |

Never said they couldn't. For the record, I don't think the Leafs will beat BOS in a round 1 matchup, with BOS having home ice advantage. But I don't think it'll be a 4-0 sweep either. I could see it going to 6 or 7 games. - gravyface
With plenty of OT. |

So this time, if the Leafs bring their good game on Saturday against the Bruins, does this change the mindset before the play-offs? |

Aeth.... you should know by now... there's no place for logic like this here - BorjeFan4Ever
Exactly, logic not needed. history has taught me that in 2011 there were the Bruins and that history repeats itself every year around the same time.. |

Probably yeah. It'll be an awesome series. I can't wait.

I know it is a cliche, but I think it comes down to goaltending against either team.
For me the "X factor" about the Leafs this year is the fact that Babcock has not burnt out his top players all year, or his defense. They also have the easier part of their schedule in the last quarter of the season.
The complexion of this team may change when ice time starts to change ... or maybe Babcock still roles 4 lines and rotates the D and the Leafs are able to endure the war of attrition that is the playoffs. |

Maybe we should start by trading them for Karlsson. The good news is that without those guys, we could also afford to take Ryan's contract.
This is very exciting. |

What do you contribute to the Bruins play this year so far? Haven't watched them at all. |

yeah look what happened last year. Anderson stood on his head, Boston lost half their defense, Pittsburgh was without their #1D, their #1G and a concussed Crosby... and it very nearly led to an absurd SCF matchup. |

Health
Goaltending
Special Teams
Those are key imo. We are healthy (so far), great goaltending (so far), PK is good, PP has potential to be lethal. I think at times the Leafs looked great against the Caps last year. I like to think we learned a lot from that and are ready to (frank) up some poop.

Leafs will win Saturday night.
Leafs were 5-0-1 before losing last game to bruins which was leaf’s 3rd game in 4 nights. They were tired. |
