Playoff run? You mean lose to Boston and/or Tampa Bay?
He's going to walk or ask for more money than he's worth, just like JVR.
Leafs could get 10 years out of Dermott and the next 5-7 years for Dermott are going to be way cheaper and guaranteed compared to a guy who can walk if he wants to. - Unholy_Goalie
Not everyone is as pessimistic about the playoffs as you seem to be. I think the Leafs could beat both Boston and Tampa. The odds and smart money might be against them, but stranger things have happened.
I hope you don't get defensive about my disagreement. |

You do know Toronto has just as good of a chance at beating Boston/Tampa as those teams do at beating Toronto.
We see many upsets ever year. Shut up with the Leafs aren't beating Boston or Tampa this year already, it just makes you sound like you barely pay attention to what happens in the playoffs. - LeafGuy89
Nope. |

data, standings, facts all point to Boston and Tampa Bay being better than Toronto right now |

No but he is wrong in saying Leafs have no chance of beating either team. Even though, we have a winning record againt the Broooins |

Dermott is too much. - Unholy_Goalie
Agree. We don't know how good this kid is yet. same for Lilegren. If McDonough was around the 23 age, then maybe. And I just don't see our brass trading first round picks. Rule #1 in a rebuild. Which we just started by the way. |

Leafs are 6th...huge underdogs. Probably won’t even score a goal. |

1st + Timashov/Bracco + Carrick - Steven_Seagull
and not the 1st unless the Leafs can re-sign him that would be a conditional 1st in 2019 not protected otherwise a 2nd rnd pick 2019 and 7th in 2020
are the Leafs a team McDo would goto? M-NTC. |

Other than your own personal opinion, what are you basing that "nope" on? L.A won the Cup as the #8 seed not that long after your all time favorite team the 2011 Bruins did |

I never said they have no chance. But their chances aren't good and definitely not good enough to be making stupid deadline deals. |

Check the standings, the stats, basic hockey knowledge etc.
Do the Leafs play the way the LA Kings do? Probably not. |

I think leafs should go all in on Eric Karlsson
He’s Paul Coffey2
Leafs are one team that are loaded with prospects that can make this happen.
CORE
KARLSSON
NYLANDER*AND OR MARNER*
ANDERSON
MATTHEWS
HYMAN
REILLY
ZAITSEV
DERMOTT*
KADRI
MARLEAU
BROWN
KAPANEN*
Any could be part of Trade
Leafs still have a lot of prospects in ahl and in Europe that could join leafs
Didn’t mention jvr and bozak as we don’t know outcome tdl—long term may not be part of core |

In about every MiB blog made since the Boston point streak this year. But it could go all the way back to 2011 playoffs. |

I've never changed my stance. You're ability to understand the stance is what is changing. |
