I don't imagine this staff will trade Travis Dermott. They targeted him in the draft, would have taken him at 24 if you believe Hunter. They let him simmer in the OHL and AHL. He represents the Shanaplan. Would be silly if they dealt him, and would send a different message than the one we've been hearing for three years.

I think the Leafs can do better than Brassard. I'd like to see Godfather Lou fleece St. Louis... who must be getting a little desperate at this point... I think they scoring as their playoff participation is coming into question.

This draft is suppose to have a lot of potential decent prospects in the late 1st round and early 2nd. Would only give up if involved in getting a solid piece for the future. We need to keep as many 1st as possible for multiple reasons.

One we are doing great but were still rebuilding. 1st round picks and our excellent scouting is the reason we have guys like hunter so if your giving it up you better know what your getting in return.

And second when all our current young players are under real contracts and we try to add a few valued top vets aka marleau likes. We will need these young players stepping into roles with the big club with entry level contracts and contributing on the ice.

Dermott is a prospect. He's played 19 NHL games.

And I doubt the Rangers want to wait years to get a useful player when they still have Lundqvist in net. Until they trade him and really blow it up, the Rangers are going to be right back at it next year.
