What I mean is......is the salary/years worth while in the long run, or is he going to start declining after 4 more years, and then NYR/Any of team be regretting it for remainder of contract. He's not exactly a good defensive player either

Eh, leave that defensive crap to the defensemen.
Any long term contract is going to suck eventually. Gotta jump at the chance to get a player of that caliber though. The Rangers don't have that game-breaker we so desperately need.
