When we traded for Filppula at last year's TDL, we knew that we were going to have the #2 pick.

We also knew that Nolan Patrick was going to need further surgery this offseason.

We also knew that New Jersey was going to take Hischier first overall.

So we had to get Filppula at last year's TDL so that we could wait for our #2 overall pick (who we knew at last year's TDL that we were going to get would need surgery) to get healthy and acclimated.

That is why Provorov mans the 2nd unit. They have a top 10 unit. The 2nd unit is really not too much of a concern because the talent on the first unit should score. if not then the 2nd unit really only gets about 30 seconds or less once they are in the zone.

Honestly the 2nd PP unit is low on my list of things that need to improve for this team to have continued success in the playoffs.

We can disagree on who is a better PP QB, and that's fine, because ultimately until Sanheim does it at the NHL, its not really provable. But I still feel as though assuming you can't score with 30 seconds left in a PP because your first pp didn't, to me, is kind of giving up.

My original point was that Sanheim was never given a chance to play on the PP, despite other young, unproven players were, both this year and last year. We have gone off on a tangent. I guess we just view it differently, which is fine.

I remember hearing that he had a 2-year deal worth $2.75M and thought it was a little high but fair. Then I heard it was $2.75M per and was very confused.
