A real upgrade for the D, which in my opinion is a second pair guy to allow Manning to sit and one of Amac or Hagg to play 3rd pair minutes is going to cost a 1st round pick.
Hexy has a very tough decision.
It’s not something he would have even considered giving up, but their recent play and with the year G and Jake are having I think it’s an option he must be considering now.
A veteran third pair defenseman to replace Manning is going to cost two mid round picks I’m guessing, like a 3rd and a 4th, and you may not improve all that much.
Tough tough call. - Marc D
I don't know. i think you could get Oduya from Ottawa for cheap. Maybe they would even take someone like Leier for Oduya.
Oduya I think could slide right into the 3rd pairing and he has playoff experience and is a solid vet.

No sign of Konecny at practice - Doctor DOOM
Lehtera is not practicing either so we still have some good news. |

Give him time, he's still walking to the ice from the locker room. |

If TK is hurt and Martel is called up and scores some goals and gets confident, maybe he goes on a V Leino type of SC run. |

Yup here's hoping for 11th pick - Tfaehner
Does that also mean we can get their ball for the lottery and win it again and move to #2?

Personally I don't like Weal and Voracek together. Too much passing. Swap Raffl and Weal. Just my opinion.
They finally adjusted the PK! Looked great the last three games. If Konecny is out I am fine with it. This team will work through it. Next man up. - mickel25
I agree. I like the idea of putting Lindblom with Voracek and Patrick. The way he drives the net only good things can happen with voracek and patrick feeding him. Plus that line would be almost impossible good with board battles.

I would also love to see Sanheim back up for a bit in place of Manning. I get that Manning came back and played himself into the lineup, but he and Gudas are struggling. Bring Sanheim back up.

Always liked that guy. Is he a UFA next year? I don’t think Hexy will trade for older guy with term left.
It would be an upgrade.
But enough to win a cup?
You need 4 really good D and a third pair that won’t get caved in limited minutes. |

This, a thousand times this. Hence why I don't think he would fare too well if we brought him up for the playoff run and playoffs as some have suggested. He was getting manhandled, especially down low.
10 lbs of muscle and some strength is all he really needs. That isn't even a difficult offseason training regimen, that is like, a just go to the gym three times a week because you are 21 type regimen.
I would however, think about Morin if he remains healthy. - MBFlyerfan
I think he can improve with added strength, but I don't see it being necessary. He is bigger than plenty of guys, he just needs to learn.
Obviously I don't feel the play of Manning has been worth not letting Sanheim learn. The Flyers aren't in the position they are in right now because the Brandon Mannings are taking leaps in their development. The defense is missing what Sanheim brings too. It's been talked about a ton, so it's whatever, but I don't think it's a strength issue. We have seen on the Flyers guys like Kimmo and Ghost learn to play against NHL players without overpowering them. |

Anyone else absolutely loving the added physicality and snarl that Ghost has shown the second half of this season? He's not going to run guys like Brian Boyle over, but he's been dishing out some pretty good hits, and his overall defensive play has been outstanding. |
