Improving the % is the next step. The coaching staff didn't want to overwhelm the players.

Seriously though, have the Flyers ever gone three straight games without a powerplay against?

With the season Giroux and the Flyers are having, I really think Giroux deserves Hart consideration. Especially if he keeps it up. Guy is tied 2nd in points with Malkin after having his worst season. His shift to wing arguably has been one of the biggest factors for this seasons’ success as its allowed Couts to step up and has allowed us to “spread the wealth” with Simmonds + Jake.

Our swedish prince was fantastic last night. I would love to see him with Jake, but maybe in due time. Anyone think he didn't look NHL ready?

Just think if they did not get Patrick. That is the best thing to happen to the Flyers in a long time. Progressed the cause three or four years.

This isn't a straight knock on Hak, but they meed to stop letting in the first goal. 4 of the last 6, they have let in the first goal.

My Game Observations:

- Huge 2 points. Jake's comments at the end are very telling. this team has taken everything Hextall has said and ran with it and not only do they want to make the playoffs they want the 1 seed.

- 3rd pairing needs an upgrade either by trade or in house promotion. Yes i understand their is a plan for the future but expectations have changed. I understand this team might not look like a cup contender but they have been one of the best teams in the league since late December/January. If Hextall said he owed it to the team to get a goalie he also owes it to them to get a better 3rd pairing.

- 4th line is actually playing ok(i know, we aren't allowed to say anything good about them). They keep pucks deep, win board battles. They are all vet guys and know what to do.

- Lyon played well. Second goal looked like an AHL goalie. Way overcommited where an AHL player might shoot that but in NHL they make that extra pass.

- Not sure what happens if Konecny is out. I don't see anyone from the 4th line moving up or Leier moving to the top line. Maybe the move Raffl up, move Weise to 3rd line and Leier on 4th? Could Martel be brough back up. He plays a Konecny type game.

- Again solid win and now I am anxious to see Mrazek tomorrow night

- J35Bacher

I would not mess with the D pairings whatsoever. I don’t think Sanheim would improve the unit right now.

Honestly, I think he needs to adjust to the speed of the transition game a bit. There were a few times where he seemed a step behind (not physically, mentally) on opposition passes. I expect that's something he will adjust to fairly quickly. But compared to some of the players on our roster, he definitely belonged in the NHL.

If they didn't already have to shuffle lines with Konecny being out, I would say I'd like to see Weal and Lindblom swapped next game.

His flow is NHL-level, to be sure:

Strong game from Lyon last night. But man, he does overplay shots a little too much for my liking. I'm hoping TK is ok. Having him out for any length of time would be a tough pill to swallow.

Let's go Flyers.

Not a popular opinion but I thought Amac had an awesome game. He was breaking up plays, connecting stretch passes, crashing the net, and even getting physical at times. Hope we see more of this down the road.

Agreed, but were they booing him at times when he had the puck on his stick? Clement mentioned it a bit last night.

I heard boos on the tv when he was carrying the puck up right before Clement mentioned that and was a bit confused because I haven't noticed any booing of AMac at the games since he went down with the injury early in the season

He did have a strong game last night. He was decisive. When he is decisive he can be effective.

I agree, I thought he was very good last night. He's not as bad of a player as a lot of people make him out to be. He was just being played a bit too much being on that top pair with provy imo

agree AMAC is a good 3rd pair guy, I don't think he is getting booed as much, mainly because it is usually Manning and Gudas on the ice for goals against. I think Hexy owes to AMAC to get a real 2nd pair D, so AMAC can be a 3rd pair D

He had some adjustments he can make but overall he was strong. I know everyone was talking about him getting to dirty areas and offense but twice that I saw Montreal had the puck in transition and he got back picked up a man and broke up the play. That to me excites me as much as the offense. Maybe he's a pk option ?

Great win! As Giroux goes, the team goes. This team seems to live and die by its Captain. Hextall deserves a lot of credit for moving him to the wing but without G being the hardest worker on the ice, we're dead in the water.

Amac has been a good pro for us. When he got sent down he deserved it. Since he came back up he's been overall the good above average defenseman he for the most part always was. His contract doesn't even seem that bad based on the new contracts people are getting. I think he will be the last vet standing between him and gudas

Agreed. I also liked how he went right to the net and was battling a few shifts in a row.

Re: the booing of AMac, that kind of makes me angry. I don't love him by any means but he's been solid. I also don't like the idea of booing your own players.

They have to. the 3rd pair is hurting them and they either need to recall Sanheim, who can play some games before the playoffs, or make a deal for someone. Both guys are struggling in my opinion. So one needs to change.

Like Hextall said, he owes it to this team to give them what they needs as they have worked hard to get into this spot.
