At the very least they need another dman whether internally or trade. I m hoping Lindblom stays up when Simmonds returns and Raffl gets dropped to 4th line and put Weise back on the scratch list. This team is so much better then the one that lost to the Caps in 6 games 2 years ago. I hope Hexy realizes more needs to be done.

I have no problem buying at the deadline if the team is in position to make some noise. The flip side of that is that the team needs to equally be willing to sell at the deadline when they're not cutting it. That's more of the concern to me. Selling at the deadline is not something this franchise particularly excels at imo, with a few exceptions of course.

Trends in advanced stats have as much to do with deployment, roles, and linemates as they do with the player.

I totally get the capitalizing on your top guys part but I hope that the expectations of the GM have not changed to the point where he becomes an all out buyer. I see that as a mistake.
