Logic fail. Clearly Manning and Lehtera are better options for PP2 than Sanheim because they both have more PP TOI this season than he does.

Therefore, every player on the team is above average or better and is currently playing well.

Because logic.

If that's the line of thinking, may as well trade them all right now at their peaks since no 1-2 players are going to magically make this team a legit contender. If we don't expect them to all play close to this level in 2-3 years, let's move them while their value is highest.

I can't believe how much the PK is improved over the last 3 games.

No goals allowed. Its like the oppositions PP unit is completely useless out there.

I don't think the Flyers have the defense or goaltending to make any serious noise past maybe the first round. If they make the playoffs, I'm happy. Anything past that is a bonus, to me.

If they can make moves to shore up their lineup or make a move that makes them better both in the present and future, then go for it. But if it's a move that costs them a few prize assets to make them from first round fodder to second round fodder, I'll pass.

That's my line of thinking.

I think your idea works value-wise. I am just not in favor of trading a 1st and one of out top prized D prospects primarily for a guy you have slotted in as a third-line center (albeit a good one).

Is Sanheim's ready to have his good be at a level where they could overlook his deficiencies. Based on his 35 games this season, I'd say no. So the comparison to the situations with Gostisbehere or Voracek is simply not a good one in my opinion.

Brandon Manning is far superior at getting punched in the face repeatedly than Sanheim. We need that kind of "good teammate" and "hard worker" more than we need skill.

Junior hockey and the AHL don't exist in his world

Sanheim is already better than Manning, just as Lindblom is already better than any winger on the 4th line. But Hextall is overly cautious and usually waits for injuries to force him into making promotions.

Sanheim was not better than Manning was when he was in the NHL so it remains to be seen if he is now. I agree that Lindholm is better but that was about what was best for Lindholm as a player which is what is most important. I like the way the Flyers handle their young players.

I don't think it cripples the future, it just seems like a steep price to pay for an upgrade that, in my eyes, is not a significant improvement.

Sanheim was not better than Manning was when he was in the NHL so it remains to be seen if he is now. I agree that Lindholm is better but that was about what was best for Lindholm as a player which is what is most important. I like the way the Flyers handle their young players.

Unless Sanheim has made major improvement in areas of his game most likely not. You compared Sanheim to two players who have elite skills and production at the NHL level.
