That's a tough one. Klefbom, Nuge and 2019 1st for Karlsson and Pageau might be as high as I'd go but that would all but require us to buyout Russell and find a suitor for Lucic. Maybe Draisaitl, Benning and our 2019 1st. I don't think either get it done but I also don't think Karlsson is the path to take as of now.

Still a no go for me. His new contract will make the big three cost over 30 million, then add Ryan and Nuge at another 13.25mil and that's 5 players taking up over half our cap. There'll be next to no depth beyond them and we'd still have to clear out Russel and maybe even Sekera l, as well.

Enticing as it may be the cap doesn't make it feasible to ice THAT imbalanced of a roster. Better off building depth of young talent through the draft a savvy buy low acquisitions.

Don't know why you seem to miss the point that we're leaving it out for the very reason that it's pretty much a non-starter with where out cap situation is. We NEED that cheap ELC on our roster to fix this team.

Sens would have to eat like half of Bobby Ryan's cap hit for the Oilers to even be able to consider this an option. The other thing is I don't see Ottawa wanting Lucic so Chia would have to get another deal in place to dump his contract. In the end we just don't have the assets to pull off both trades because to dump Lucic we would have to give up Yamamoto or our first which doesn't leave much to entice Ottawa with. Nuge and Klefbom?

And to add on if I am the sens I'm not moving Karlsson unless Nurse is coming back the other way.
