Sens would have to eat like half of Bobby Ryan's cap hit for the Oilers to even be able to consider this an option. The other thing is I don't see Ottawa wanting Lucic so Chia would have to get another deal in place to dump his contract. In the end we just don't have the assets to pull off both trades because to dump Lucic we would have to give up Yamamoto or our first which doesn't leave much to entice Ottawa with. Nuge and Klefbom?
- Lemmewinks

As has been mentioned in previous blogs... If Dion's contract can be traded twice why can't Lucic's be traded once.

Agreed. I don't know why people seem to think we can fleece anybody in a deal. It's like we forget Chia is the one on the phone representing Edmonton.
- Lemmewinks

What Chiarelli will do or not is irrelevant to the conversation as the question wasn't "what do you think Chiarelli would give up for Karlsson"; it was "what would you guys give up for Karlsson".

Lucic has full NMC. Phaneuf didn't. He had a modified NTC/NMC.

Fair enough. But Dion did have a modified NTC and makes more than Milan, but Ottawa had to eat a portion of the contract.

Gimme Trouba for RNH and Bennings plzzzz.

Oh, and MP (matthew perr.) is an LW, not a C @bone, only more reason for Winnipeg to do it (referring to this prop. and the previous prop. I mentioned)
Roslovic (prospect) is a RW, not a C btw.

Sch.
RNH
Little (30 years old, yes, he is considered a 2C for WPG atm, but having such a trio would do well for the Jets in the future)

OP AF center depth for WPG. RHD defensively, they'll be fine with
Myers/Byfuglien/Bennings

Larsson/Trouba/Sekeras (can play off-hand)
Slick RHD depth. Allows us to consider trading Sekeras next year contingent upon how Klefbom/Nurse do next year.

Plus both (RNH and Trouba) players are currently injured so.......

I didnt say Lucic's contract couldn't be moved. I said we don't have the assets to get Karlsson and also move out Lucic's contract. That is unless we really want to strip the paint off the cupboards as well....

But Trouba reportedly wants out of Canada not just Winnipeg. He's saying the right things to try and help the Jets get some value out of him.

Fair enough. If I am Ottawa I'm asking for a package that starts with Nurse or Puljujarvi for sure.

Don't remember all the talk when he held out last year? Was all over the place he wanted to be closer to home like Hamonic. He came out and said he only wanted more time not out. Bit I find it hard to believe you hold out while being a RFA because you only want more minutes. That's a discussion with coach and player.

I didn't read any specific teams reportedly interested. I just thought it would be interesting to discuss what we feel would be a fair trade from our end.

He was also being played a lot on his offside at the time and wanted more minutes on his natural side.

Both Roslovic and Perreault are natural Cs. Just because they're playing wing now doesn't mean they're incapable to playing their natural position.

The bigger problem becomes that their biggest need is still another LHD for their top-4 to compliment Morrissey, Byfuglien and Myers; Kulikov is most definitely NOT that guy even short term. In making this trade, they lose their best piece to acquire such a player and they gain another piece that COULD achieve it, but they'd be losing value unless Benning took off next year.

What's your reason to think that?

I think it's fair. Both of the main pieces are injured and the incentive of Bennings should be considered with regards to defensive depth going into the playoffs.

Value wise, not far-fetched to think that RNH can get us Trouba.

Little will most likely be their main 3C in 1-2 years and by acquiring RNH, you've got a 1-2-3 trio set for years. That depth in a league like this would be insane.

Edit: Yeah, f it, didn't know MP and Ros are nat. C's.

Would they be willing to do Nurse for Trouba? Or nah (we'd have to add)? Means we'd be banking on Sekeras bouncing back too.

Nurse for Trouba really seems like a lateral move I don't really see much benefit from that deal tbh.
