“At my age, I know what my game needs to be successful,” Vrbata said. “That’s why I signed here in the first place, to play with Hank and Danny."
“The only players that had chemistry were Danny and Hank together, and with Jannik Hansen. And maybe Bo (Horvat) with Sven (Baertschi). Other than that, it was hard to find chemistry.”
“There would have been a lot more teams interested,” Vrbata said. “If they said, after last season, ‘You know what, next year, we’re going young. We have a 19-year-old centreman for you to play with.
“‘Do you want to do something else?’
“Then I think I would have jumped at — considered something different, even though last year was great.”

"Vrbata’s limited no-trade clause forces him, if asked, to present a list of eight teams with which the Canucks could negotiate. But Vrbata, who is 34 and on an expiring contract that pays him $5 million, has 11 goals this season and just one in his last 22 games. At minus-28, Vrbata has caught teammate Bo Horvat for worst in the NHL. And Vrbata’s trade value is not likely to be enhanced skating with minor-league call-ups Linden Vey and Alex Friesen." Iain MacIntyre. |

Sorry to disappoint. You just aren’t a very effective troll. Work on your game if you want to wind me up. I already told you how much I appreciate your admiration. No anger here RC - CanuckDon

Tampa Bay continues to aggressively pursue an Erik Karlsson trade. Still have interest in other defensive options across the league. Will upgrade somewhere.
TB with Karlsson would just be unfair

Well obviously but why'd he expect to get traded before his last year, as if it was his right? He was under contract, being payed handsomely, and he dials it in cus he's doesn't get his way, what an unprofessional little b&$ch - and of course, it becomes JB fault.
Its' pretty simple - He had his mind made up before his final season started - he joined the country club, collected his 5mil, handcuffed the team to trade him. |

yeah, I'm not gonna defend a player like that. Hopefully they avoid signing/acquiring any more selfish vets like Vrbata and Prust in the future. |

they have the pieces and cap space to do it.
i think if ottawa's price comes down (doubtful - i think dorion overplays his hand) then tampa could get him.
more likely imo that they settle on the cheaper option of green. |

Yost is legit. Remember when Melyk hacked him? It would be expensive, could Tampa work the cap for this season and next? |

I keep hearing the Lightning are trying to get Karlsson, too. And I legitimately think that if they can't pull it off, Alex Edler could be their consolation prize.
That's in the new blog—where you're invited to make your best deals for the Canucks at this trade deadline.

yeah, probably
but at least he was a young guy who was new to the NHL culture, that kind of attitude displayed by long time vets is embarrassing. |

i'm a bit conflicted on him. he'd be a great addition but i don't like the attitude and my personal bias is that the attitude is common amongst russian players. |
